I stumbled upon this place and didn't know what to expect. When I arrived with my family we were welcomed with open arms. Debbie, Bill and Lisa are wonderful hosts. They provided excellent travel tips, gave cool tours of the chicken coop in the back and the breakfasts were very delicious. The house is massive and we enjoyed having wine and cheese on the porch outside, comfortable sleeps in the most comfortable beds and watched a movie in our room at night. It was also convenient that it was close to PIcton and local wineries. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway this is the place to go!

Debbie, Bill and Lise really go out of their way to make guests feel welcome, no matter how young, they are very kid-friendly, breakfast was great, rooms very comfortable, kids loved the chickens and the pool.

We enjoyed our nice stay at this lovely family inn. We spent 2 days in Picton and went to the Sandbanks provincial park beach which was clean and not too crowded. The water was actually quite warm considering we are in Canada ! The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The chicken farm was an event for us city folks - thanks Bill for showing us around. A big thank you to Debbie and Lise for the great big delicious homemade breakfasts...it was a treat to eat outside on the porch. We would recommend this inn and would also love to come back.

We spent a week at Bells and Whistles in August. What a treat! Our grandchildren were treated so well. Our eight year old grandson was wowed with the fantastic breakfasts. He told everyone he met" I love this place ! ". The Inn has a very relaxed and laid back atmosphere. Super comfortable rooms. WE enjoyed our stay immensely. Would recommend for families for sure.

Thank you so much Debbie, Bill, & Lise! We all had such a wonderful time, the girls didn't want to leave. Everything was above our expectations and you all went above the call of duty. We can't wait to come back again!!!

We visited The County and Bells and Whistles Family Inn a couple of weeks ago. We are still raving about our experience. Even before we arrived at the B&B, while the phone reservation was being secured, Lise was more than helpful with her recommendation for a place for dinner (Blumen Garden Bistro--another rave). When we arrived at Bells and Whistles, another family was also checking in. No worries. Bill took over the tour for the other family, and Debbie showed us all the amenities. You’ll see these described in other reviews.

Our room was extremely neat and well laid out. The bathroom was spotless. We hadn’t made reservations for supper for our first night, and Debbie recommended a few places, including the pub at Waring House in Picton. Good choice.

At breakfast the next morning, we enjoyed fruit, yogurt, juice (great coffee!), and Lise’s excellent pancakes with local maple syrup and bacon. We had our breakfast on the veranda and watched the rain thundering down. It was the first rainy day in The County, and other parts of Ontario, for many weeks. That didn’t stop us! Debbie asked where we planned to go, then gave us a handful of tasting passes for various wineries.

We spent the day following our noses. First stop County Cider (too wet for lunch on the patio overlooking Lake Ontario): next Del Gatto Estates Winery (Debbie’s recommendation and a very pleasant experience); then Black River Cheese (try their new Edwardsburgh); lunch in Picton then off to Sandbanks Estate Winery.

We returned to Bells and Whistles for a rest and to put some of our purchases in the refrigerator/freezer that is available for guests. We remarked again how pleasant Debbie, Bill, and Lise have made their home for visitors. We were rapidly feeling like we were members of a big B&W family.

When we came home(!) from our wonderful supper at Blumen Garden, we checked out the DVD collection and enjoyed a movie in our room.

The next morning’s breakfast was spectacular. Eggs and sausages, along with the fruit, etc. and marvellous granola, and toast of their own bread. One plate of eggs was scrambled with Black River cheese--wow! Another lovely meal on the veranda.

There were families of all descriptions during our stay at Bells and Whistles. Infants, toddlers, teenagers--there were activities and resources to suit every age. Most of the families during our time were francophone. B&W is able to provide service in French, and it was obvious how comfortable this service made everyone feel.

We would have liked to stay (they were booked up for the next night), but we will certainly return. We left with hugs all around with Debbie, Bill, and Lise, and a promise to come back as soon as we can.

We went there with our 2 year-old. First time in Sandbanks! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with open arms. The rooms were immaculate and the beds very cozy! There is a chicken coop in the back where they get fresh eggs and the kids can pet the chickens and see the ducks and roosters. There's also a sandbox and a swingset and a nice pool. There's a toy chest for the kids to play. The breakfast was all homemade and delish - they even made me fresh gluten free bread and granola!!! They also helped us book a dinner reservation. I really felt they went over and above and we had a super-relaxing time!!
