“Beautiful B&B, Great Hosts, Fabulous Breakfasts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2012

My husband and I have stayed in many B&B's, in several countries. This one is among the best. The two well-decorated, very clean and spacious ensuite B&B rooms are located upstairs in the coach house. If you are travelling with friends, as we were, you will find the bedrooms and sitting areas provide lots of room to socialize, while still being private and quiet.

The coach house is attached to hosts Patti & Mike's own beautiful Victorian house by a common entry area. A summer kitchen and seating area, located on the coach house ground floor, overlook the sunny garden and pool, where guests are welcome to enjoy a swim and relax.. Scrumptious breakfasts are served in the summer kitchen. Patti is a great cook, and Mike makes sure you have everything you need. Take your time, enjoy, you won't need to eat lunch.

Both Patti and Mike are friendly and helpful hosts, knowledgeable about the area, and they ensure you feel welcomed and at home. We would definitely stay here again.

One note, there is a flight of stairs up to the bedrooms, which may not work for everyone.

Room Tip: The front room is bigger and overlooks the quiet street. The back room is smaller, but still big an...

Traditons Guest House is a great place to stay in Picton on a lovely block a minutes' walk from downtown Picton. Our room was very comfortable and very private. The jug of cold water in the room's mini-fridge was a nice touch. Breakfast was wonderful and filling. The owners really are good hosts, both friendly and respectful of their guests' privacy.

This is a great B&B especially if you plan to stay with 2 parties. The two rooms seperated by a hallway are beautifull and Patti and Mike are the best hosts. We usually like more privacy than in typical B&Bs but this B&B was perfect for us. Since the rooms were seperated from the main house there was enough privacy. The breakfasts were absolutely fabulous and the attention to detail from the beautiful napkin rings to reading material in the rooms was great. If we were to visit Picton again this would definitely be the place of choice to stay. I can't say enought great things about this B&B and it was truly a pleasure to have met Patti and Mike, they made us feel so at home.

Patti and Mike are wonderful people who make you feel right at home. The breakfasts were delicious and there was so much to eat we skipped lunch the two days we stayed there. Patti recommended things to do and even made dinner reservations for us, don't miss Blumen Gardens restaurant.
The house was spotless and they think of little things like a dish on your night table to put your jewellry in and qtips and face wipes in the bathroom.
The rooms are spacious and beatifully decorated and the backyard is a pleasant space to sit and relax after dinner.
Will definately go back again Linda Greenwood.

We are 4 female family members travelling together. We decided to spend a couple of days in Prince Edward County sampling the wine at the wineries, local cheeses and visiting the local Artisans.
This was our first time visiting this B&B and it was a real treat. Couldn't complain about a thing. We took both suites which are across from each other. Both were roomy enough with a sitting area and small bar fridge. Filtered water was provided in the fridge. The suite facing the street had the king bed with the full couch and was a bit larger room. The second suite had the queen bed with the love seat and faced the backyard. Even the second suite is larger than you will find at most B&Bs. Besides our suites we had the whole lower area to ourselves which had a little kitchen area and another 2-piece bathroom. Our breakfast was brought to us in this kitchen. The fruit, yogurt and granola was very tasty and so was the fritata and canadian bacon. We enjoyed the back patio overlooking the gardens and pool and found the whole experience very relaxing.
Our hosts were very helpful in offering information on the area and where to eat for dinner and where to shop, which wineries to visit etc.
We will definitely return here on our next visit to Picton.

Patti and Mike are excellent hosts, they really do make you feel at home. It helped having an affinity with Mike's Yorkshire roots.
We stayed in Room 2 which was anything but cramped as previously mentioned. It is more like a mini apartment with a large bed, sofa, breakfast bar/work area and fridge plus plenty of drawers and a large hanging closet. We accept that Room 1 is larger but we were more than happy with Room 2. The shower room was also well appointed.

The breakfasts were a delight, it is obvious that Patti has excellent culinary skills. Patti and Mike hit just the right balance of serving breakfast, being on hand if needed, yet leaving the guests to their own converation.

There is a kitchen area for guests' use including a washer and drier. Guests can also cook their own food either in the kitchen or on the BBQ and eat on the patio overlooking the attractive garden and pool.

Patti was extremely helpful in response to e-mails prior to our stay and very informative of practical activities for both wet and dry days (we had both).

Finally, Mike recommended the Accoustic Grill where we ate both evenings.
All in all a great stay and highly recommended.

We had a very nice stay at Traditions. We stayed in the larger of the two suites (#1) which overlooked the road. Although the view wasn't as nice as looking over the back garden and pool, the room more than made up for it. It was extremely spacious, clean, neat, and what I would call modern country in style. It was warm and relaxing in feel. We really liked the convenience of the small bar fridge in the room to chill our wine and the wine glasses/bar area that was provided. The lamps attached to the wall by the bed were great for reading. The bed was a bit hard for those used to a pillowtop but still very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean with a nice skylight inside, although only had a small stand up shower. Not a big deal, still worked well for us!

Mike and Patty were both so very nice and welcoming. For breakfast we had yogurt, fresh berries, and granola to start followed by sausages and a blueberry french toast dish. The breakfast was very nice. The separate small kitchen and dining area was also a nice touch and it overlooked the pool and garden area. We really enjoyed the back garden area and were so surprised by the variety of places to sit and relax. We spent some time in the gazebo area. The fence, trees, and bushes provided privacy from the neighbours such that it didn't feel like we were right in town. The central location was so convenient. Mike and Patty were very knowledgeable of places to go and things to do- and provided a great binder full of information. A key was provided to the separate breezeway entrance so you didn't have to feel badly or worry about waking up the family if you wanted to come back late in the evening. We have wanted to go back for our anniversary but unfortunately it seems to be booked up for every weekend in the summer. Book early if you want a weekend stay!

Room Tip: Both rooms are very nice and similar in style. The suite 2 is much smaller, slightly cramped but ch...
