Florencia Bay Hideaway
Reviewed May 21, 2008

This past May long weekend we stayed in the "Copper Cabin" at the Florencia Bay Hideaway. We saw the pictures of it on the website and fell in love with it immediately. When we arrived, the cabin was just as we thought it would be...incredible!! The location was perfect and offered all the privacy we wanted.
We hope to visit it again some day soon.
Thank you very much Teri-Ann and Brent!!

We stayed in the Halfmoon Cottage on our Honeymoon. It is a wonderful cabin nestled in the trees. I highly recommend it. For the price you get more than most of the hotels or cabins in the town.
And definitely take the walk to Halfmoon Bay, it is beautiful.

my wife and i have just returned from the island having stayed 13 nights in halfmoon cottage, the cottage is private/ quiet/ comfortable and within a short drive of ucluelet with its supermarket (well stocked)and restraunts, the hot tub is well positioned and perfect for a quiet evening under the stars with a bottle of wine.the cottage contains everthing you need from toiletries / a very well stocked kitchen to a flat screen tv & internet access, teri-ann & brent proved to be very helpfull but not intrusive, we took full advantage of the whale & bear watching trips and enjoyed them very much.all in all perfect accomodation in a wonderful place.

Going there was for a week get-away with my boyfriend. We wanted a more private place than a B&B or hotel. With this place we got it all!!!

A cute cabin (we got the Halfmoon cabin) and it was so beautiful inside with a very rustic west coast look. Not so rustic were the amnemities. We had a full kitchen (including some condiments and basics), fireplace, tv, stereo and the clawfoot tub along with the shower. The big thing for us was the private hot tub out on our deck!

The weather was great that week - we were a short walk to the trail that led to a beach and we took walks & hikes everyday! At night, we would either have dinner in Ucluelet (you must -MUST go try Blueberries Cafe!!!! lotsa vegetarian stuff and yummy breakfasts) or at the cabin and then take our wine out in the hot tub. Oooooh it was great - sipping wine under the stars! You can certainly go buck and not worry about the neighbours!

Yes, we had neighbours in the other 2 cabins, but there was enough space that we never saw or heard them. Same with the owners, they only came by when we needed something (more towels and when our water got turned off - it was quickly fixed).Really nice - we never felt that they were monitoring our every move. They also left us jams and scone mix and milk & coffee for our first day - in case we didn't get groceries yet. They also gave us the same rate as the Florencia cabin since it got booked just as we decided.

In all, it was a fabulous place and we will go back to it again! Maybe for an anniversary? BTW got engaged there too (actually he popped the question at Amphitrite Point - sunset of course)

Love this place~

DON''T MISS THIS ONE ! We can't' recommend this accommodation enough. Our stay here felt just like a second honeymoon. Florencia Bay Cottage was huge and extremely clean & tidy. The fluffy bath towels were just one of the many luxuries. You can either 'cook up a storm' in the fully equipped kitchen or sizzle some steaks on the bbq before relaxing in your private hot tub with a bottle (or two) of wine! The cottage is steps away from some great walking trails down to the bay where you can breathe in the Pacific Ocean air. We had a superb stay and would love to visit again - the sooner the better !

When I think of the brief but glorious time I spent with my husband at Halfmoon Cottage - one of the many luxurious log cottages that comprise Florencia Bay Hideaway - there are hardly words to acurately describe it. The three (and soon to be 4) private cottages tucked away along the Pacific Rim Highway are either newly built or newly upgraded and have been outfitted with every conceivable necessity and more. From plush new towels and down duvets to the flat-screen TV and capuccino maker, your hosts Teri Ann and Brent have done everything to ensure your stay has all the comforts of a 5 star resort. Yet there is a wonderful contrast from these luxuries and the "rustic" feel of the cottage itself: A hewn log staircase and bannister to the loft, the handcrafted driftwood lamp and side table in the living room - all a welcome reminder of the wildness of the Pacific Coast you are visiting. Nights are heavenly at Halfmoon Cottage due to the high quality mattress and sumptuous down duvet that graces the queen size driftwood ensconced bed. I have never slept so well away from home :-) Each cottage also boasts their own private hot tub which will be made ready for your arrival. You also have the option of a soak in the clawfoot tub or a long steamy shower as the bathroom is outfitted with both. Make sure to take advantage of the complimentary shampoo & shower gel thoughtfully provided by your hosts. While the price of accomodation reflects the demand of this oft visited region, keep in mind the money you'll save and the convenience of having access to a well equipped full size kitchen. There are at least 2 well stocked grocery stores nearby that will assist you with meal preparation. Only steps away are 2 wonderful hiking trails which take you through Pacific Rim National Park to Halfmoon Bay and Florencia Bay. If you're off-season as we were, take a picnic & blanket and enjoy the incredible beauty & solitude of these beaches. Simply awesome - we can't wait to go back!
