What a wonderful place. The past three winters we have taken a caribbean vacation but this year, due to two out of three children in university and timing, we decided to stay closer to home. We found the resort through it's web site and decided to give it a try, besides the fact that our youngest daughter insisted we stay here, she's a huge 90210 fan!
What we were looking for was a quiet cabin on the ocean and what we got was exactly that. After the beautiful drive from Nanaimo to Ucluelet, it felt good to walk into a lovely cabin,Morning Mist #2, with incredible view and an inviting hot tub. The beach was full of wonderful surprises, star fish and such, and the sunset was breathtaking. The kitchenette is loaded with everything needed to cook and the little extra details (candles everywhere)
made it a very romantic settting.
We enjoyed the Wild Pacific Trail to the lighthouse and watching the waves slamming against the rocks was incredible. The rain forest trail in the Pacific Rim National Park was unbelievable as well as Long Beach, and the other trails in the park. It is a great place to explore.
We loved being able to cook our own meals so as to be able to eat on our time table however we did have a delicious meal at the Boat Basin restaurant in town.
The best part of the trip was relaxing in the hot tub while listening to the waves of the ocean, the eagles and ducks and gulls, especially after hiking all day in the rain.
Thanks to Lorne and Rosie for the tour and to all the staff for making this a wonderful holiday. We will definaltely be returning.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our holiday in Canada. We did not want to leave. The 3 story accomodation is comfortable, clean and very cozy.
The views are amazing and we really enjoyed sitting on the beach watching the sun set.
We used the BBQ and there is a supermarket in Ucluelet which has everything you need.
It is essentil you do the short walk to the lighthouse again the views are breath taking.
We would love to go back and stay for longer.

This is a very remote place but great. Assume that you cannot walk to any bars or restaurants so bring everything you need.
We had a great three storey house which opened onto the beach. As it was a long way from anywhere we got stuff in for a BBQ. The kitchen area is very teeny.
The staff will lend out DVD's and there is cable TV if you have kids/teenagers.
We went for great walks to the lighthouse. Also highly recommend a whale watching trip with Jamie's. They were great.
Some deer came onto the property which was a great experience for us all.
Not cheap but very unique.

We stayed in Raven (a two bedroom unit) for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, pointing us in the direction of board games, DVDs and so on in the main office. This was particularly good as the weather wasn't great during our visit, which probably marred our enjoyment of the area a little. Having said that, I still loved it and would like to go back some day!

The bedrooms were small but cosy, and very well presented. The bathroom was clean and was restocked/cleaned regularly.

The main living area was lovely, and though the kitchen seemed quite small, it had everything we needed, including BBQ tools. The gas barbecue was great and had the weather been better we would have enjoyed sitting out more.

The one downside of our stay was our neighbours - the people staying above us seemed to get up very early and jump about at night and in the mornings like a herd of elephants. Obviously this would not be the case with all of units, but it was annoying at the time, particularly as we had chosen Raven because it was ground floor and all on one level - another unit probably wouldn't have had the same problem.

The whole area is beautiful, and the location is a major plus for Terrace Beach, unfortunately the weather and tiredness after a long drive prevented us from exploring the beaches and forests as much as I would have liked. We did really enjoy a trip to Bamfield on the Seaway Express - for us (a young family with a pregnant mother and 15 month old!) a much better option than a whale watching trip, though we did actually see a whale. I would love to visit the area again, and would definitely return to Terrace Beach - but this time we'd be better prepared and bring more groceries with us - the local stores are a bit limited.

Recently returned from 5 great nights in Terrace Beach's Morning Mist cabin. This was our second trip to this resort. The first trip was in Aug/07 where we stayed in Eagle's Nest.

We have been very happy with the resort. Rustic type cabins in a great setting and extremely clean! Dogs are so welcome there its unbelievable!

The lighthouse trail next door is great and within a 15-25 minute drive there are so many walking trails and beaches you will never be bored. Groceries can be found within a 5 minute drive.

The units all have adequate kitchen facilities and BBQ. If you don't feel like cooking, order pizza one night from the pizza restaurant in town.(Roman's?) They will deliver right to you.

The beachfront cabins all have great views, however our stay in the boardwalk unit was great as well. I urge you to take advantage of the off season rates. The differences are incredible.

If you are looking for a relaxing time, walks on the beaches during the day, having a few drinks and barbequing up some dinner by evening then this is the place. It's not a 'fancy' place but a well cared for, perfectly situated cozy retreat.

We will return again!

My husband and I stayed at the Terrace Beach Resort for a few days of our honeymoon. We found the resort on a fluke when putting in "Ucluelet" into Google. It looked very promising, and extremely reasonable compared to everywhere else in the area and once we were there, we were extremely pleased. The office staff were so helpful and were full of great information for the area. The room was very welcoming and the view from the beach is breathtaking. We were so lucky to have found this resort and we cannot wait to go back again.

We had a wonderful few days stay at Terrace Beach. It is in a quiet area just outside Ucluelet. Close enough to get to Ucluelet without any trouble but far enough away to be away from any potential noise. The surrounding area is fantastic, with a lovley secluded beach and a nice trail to the Amphritite Lighthouse.
Bald Eagles nest within view of most of the rooms!

The room was spacious and was more like an apartment with it's own facilities. A home from home!!!
