Upon arrival we found a cute little note with the instructions for self check-in. Free parking in front of the accomodations is very convenient! Our room/suite was the Ocean Mist. Beautiful, clean, lovely details! Personalised note in the room, fresh leaves and small fresh twigs from the forest on the towels and in the bathroom. A lot of closet space for the two of us. We enjoyed the hot tub outside, we even saw 3 little dear in the next garden while we sat in the hot tub! Excellent stay at this facility!!

Stayed in the Rainforest accommodation. The ‘wow’ factor when you entered the room. Self check in and self check out too unless you have a query. As a Guest house, one would expect the owner to at least want to meet her guests.

We stayed at « The Haven » room and were very pleased. The room is nicely decorated, very clean and had everything we need. We really felt like home! The bed is very comfortable, we slept very well! The only downside, which is common to all places we had been in Canada, is the lack of blackout curtains.
I totally recommend this guest house!

My wife and I recently spent three nights in the lower Rainforest suite. The main living/bedroom, dining-room, and bathroom were all very comfortable, and nicely furnished. The dining area has a bar fridge, microwave, kettle, and a French press for coffee. This suite has no view to speak of, although the guest house is 200 feet from the shoreline, and the website mentions a garden view. A 30 second stroll down the trail to the shoreline reveals a small cove and waves crashing on the nearby rocks. Even whales can be spotted passing by! The owner is very friendly, and made sure we were comfortable, and undisturbed. We enjoyed our stay and solitude, and would recommend the Loft suite for a better view. One side note I should mention is, there is an extra cleaning fee of $40 over and above the suites rental cost, that is mentioned on the Wild-Shores Guest House website. It is a one-time cleaning fee that I feel should be in the cost of the suite rental.

We stayed in the Artists Loft ocean view superior room. The place was amazing but after checking in and staying there, we were disappointed in a few things. Furnishings are boring, cheap and uncomfortable. The art on the walls is weird -blank canvasses! A stove would have been nice to have as there was space for one. The spa tub on the deck -bathing suit required (would have been nice to know ahead of time) and not to be used after 9:00. No place to hang up your jackets or to put your footwear. One towel each and a tiny hand towel for the spa tub found by deck door. The bodem did not strain the coffee grains very well. No cream or milk for coffee or tea provided although the second day they gave us a bowl full of cream when I complained about the bodem or not having a coffee filter for the coffee machine. The worst part about spending the big bucks to stay here is the bed-it’s not a mattress; it’s an old foam and very hard and uncomfortable. I was curious and had a look. The bedding I must say was luxurious. If you are going to charge exorbitant prices to stay there, then the furnishings should be high end. The coffee mugs were also chipped. Another thing is the $50 cleaning fee that was tacked onto our reservation. Say what? That is ridiculous and for that reason and the reasons above, we won’t go back. Other than the above, we enjoyed our time away and made the best of it and the view was breathtaking.

Jannab, your review was so different from the usual breathtaking exclamations from people first entering the Artist Loft that I feel I should probably respond to your comments for the sake of our future guests. Even though you mention that the place was amazing, it sounds like, all in all, you had a very ‘off’ stay. I feel so sad about that as our hearts in designing these rooms next to the Wild Pacific Trail was to create a unique and amazing experience. Please feel free to give us a call. We would love to hear from you personally to talk through your stay and see what can be done.

1. Cleaning fee. Don’t worry, we would never tack on an additional surprise cleaning fee. Ever! We have opportunity to offer custom specials at times, during low season, of 50% off the regular rate. In order to offer our guests those incredible rates we do need to charge the cleaning fee separately but it is always listed clearly along with the purchase price.

2. ‘Artwork’. Others have gotten that confused as well. Those are actually sound dampening baffles hung near the peaked roof line.

3. Stove. Although this 1000 square-foot suite was originally built as a full living area, local zoning does not allow us to offer full cooking facilities for nightly rentals. We avoid posting pictures of the kitchen area and list room details on booking sites. Repeat guests sometimes bring in their own slow cooker or plug-in frying pan etc. to take advantage of the kitchen area.

4. Jackets and footwear. There is an entry hallway for shoes as well as a full closet but thank you for your comments. We will make sure we place a coat hook in a convenient spot immediately beside the entry door.

5. Mattress. You can find similar foam mattresses online for up to $3000. They are specifically designed for an ultra comfortable sleep, firm and supportive yet with enough luxury for the body to sink in in all the right places. Highly breathable and finished with a luxurious cover. (Yes, foam mattresses used to be the cheaper way to go. )

6. Coffee. In the past we have supplied only powdered creamer like most hotels. We now get our coffee custom roasted locally and freshly ground! ‘Tsunami’ coffee from West Coast Roasters is our favourite. Yum! Fresh cream at all times.

7. Towels. Like most hotels we supply one full set of towels per guest and are available on site if you would like to request more. We will definitely consider leaving additional bath towels in the room. The small towels near the tub are there for the convenience of wiping any dust that might settle in the outdoor tub between us cleaning it and your use of it. (It’s not that obvious. We will consider leaving a note for future guests.)

8. Chipped mugs. Will definitely look into that. Thank you.

10. View. Yes, we think it is spectacular too. We feel so privileged to be out here on the Wild West Coast!

Here’s hoping you have an amazing day!
