I haven't seen a lighthouse before...and we had the opportunity to see it working in full while we hiked the Lighthouse Loop of the Pacific Rim Trail. It was quite foggy so the lighthouse was on and blasting it's horn, while automated, it was still neat to see it doing it's job.

The walk to the Amphitrite Lighthouse takes you along part of the Wild Pacific Trail and is incredibly beautiful. At various points there are information boards giving interesting facts about the views, and the edge of the rainforest is full of flora and fauna. The walk is not at all arduous and is well worth the effort

The scenery around this lighthouse is quite amazing and it is relatively easy to get to along a paved pathway with just a few rocks to clamber over. The views from the lighthouse are quite something - at the time we were there it was a little stormy so the waves crashing against the rocks increased the spectacle. One of the points where the Wild Pacific Trail starts - worth spending time at the lighthouse before starting the trail.

The view from the quaint lighthouse is amazing. We were able to spot a gray whale feeding near the lighthouse, then while walking along the trail we spotted a few Orcas swimming along the coast!

The lighthouse itself is just your average lighthouse, it's the scenery around it that makes it. Really beautiful rugged scenery. We saw a grey whale here. The wild pacific trail goes from here, it's well worth it.
