We stayed at Tauca Lea for 2 nights in July 2004. We were very satisfied with our stay. We had a 1-bedroom suite that faced the back bay - Suite #102 - very secluded and quiet! I would recommend making sure that you are staying in a unit that overlooks the bay rather than the marina and the marshy area. Those views are not nearly as nice. Kitchen is well stocked, although we didn't cook a meal there. Balcony was perfect - a beautiful view and very peaceful. Bed was comfy; they also include spa products as bath toiletries. They provided coffee and creamer for both of our nights stay. Overall, quite beautiful and I am glad we stayed there vs. the places in Tofino and along Long Beach. There were several other guests but we were never really aware of them due to the individual, secluded nature of the suites. The breakfast did leave something to be desired - cinnamon buns, raisin bran muffins, cold cereal, and strawberries. It is probably fine for young children or for someone that likes lots of sugar for breakfast. Boat Basin Restaurant was top notch and has a nice feel inside. (we had dinner there one night). We went hiking down in Long Beach and we went and looked at several of the other hotels in the area (Wikanninish, etc.) and I think that we got the better deal and the better experience at Tauca Lea!
