Owner description: The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands to the east and the open Pacific Ocean to the south and west, it offers spectacular shoreline panoramas and seaward vistas through ancient cedar and spruce-framed viewing platforms constructed on the best headlands along the route.

“Lovely Wild Pacific Trail”

Walking trails are a must for me, and this one is not only fairly extensive, but a work in progress with more to come. To me it is a great part of what makes Ucluelet a good place to be.

“a surprisingly nice trail”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

This trail does not sound like much, when compared to the wild west coast beaches, but in fact there is lots to it - not only its ever-growing distance, but the thoughtfulness the locals put into designing it and making it go through particularly scenic lookouts. The trail has dozens viewpoints, and is really a very cool place to walk or run!

“Ucluelet!! Escape the frozen north.”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

This trail is a gem. Beautiful views of the ocean and the surf; lovely walk through rainforest vegetation. We watched the tide come in crashing over the rocks. It was mesmerizing. Another Ucluelet treasure.

“Easy walk with fantastic views”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

Within a few hundred feet of walking, we saw two eagles in a tree. The loop is fairly level and the trail is well groomed so that almost anyone can walk it. You don't need to watch your feet, which is good because the views of the surf and the shore are wonderful. There are benches scattered liberally along the trail as well for those who want to linger. You get an amazing experience with very little effort.
