Owner description: The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands to the east and the open Pacific Ocean to the south and west, it offers spectacular shoreline panoramas and seaward vistas through ancient cedar and spruce-framed viewing platforms constructed on the best headlands along the route.

We have had the opportunity to walk the Wild Pacific Trail dozens of times over the years and I must say that this is one of the most spectacular trails on the west coast. Being from the east coast of Vancouver Island and yes this is beautiful as well but, there is something magical and unspoiled about the west side of the island. The trail is easily accessible and well maintained. There are many sensational vistas and I never tire of the views. It seems every time we visit and go for a walk it is always different. No matter what the weather is like - rain, sun and gusting winds the trail is somewhat protected and you never feel the cold - you are too busy taking in all the sites. The lighthouse is quaint and the history makes it even more special. A must walk if you are visiting the area.

This trail is a must .The waves crashing up against the shore and we even saw a whale just off shore. The waves were splashing higher by the lighthouse. The trail is well maintained and has several view areas along the way.

This is a gentle walk along a well groomed trail that could take as little as 45 minutes to complete if you don't stop to soak in the surrounding nature. From huge trees, small plants to grand vistas of the Pacific Ocean there are many things to enjoy and photograph. Taking our time we spent 1 1/2 hours to make the circuit. Remember to bring water, wear good walking shoes and suitable protection if it's windy or wet.

Easy trail with fantastic vistas. Seems like a new view around every corner. Lots of benches to sit and just watch the waves roll in continuously. Have walked it in both a sunny warm winter day and in a windy winter rainy storm. I think I prefered the storm! Although mot a wilderness experience by any means, it is still worth a visit. Still not a bad idea to have good rain gear with warm underlayers to stay out in the elements.

Not "wild" enough; too short for good walkers ("only" 8 kilometers); but very scenic (and lot of benches for families)
