Beautiful setting, stylish rooms with a breathtaking view over the water. Friendly and helpful staff. However came home at 6pm to find no hot water so we all had no option other than to take a a cold shower, Beds were lumpy and uncomfortable in both rooms, sheets were bobbly. Decided to take the £5 voucher for both rooms instead of having the daily maid service to service to clean but we could not get anywhere near the restaurant as it was rammed, Disappointed and would not recommend.

thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experience. We are very disappointed to only learn about these issues now.
If you would have prefer a firmer mattress, we could have simply remove the mattress topper. It is regretful you will not recommend due to the business of our restaurant. We are the biggest resort of the west coast and we recommend, during peak season, to book ahead of time should you wish to go to Fetch Restaurant for dinner. Next time, please walk right up a manager and voice your concerns. We want hear all about your concerns and address them in the most suitable way. We look forward to hearing from you. Your feedback makes us better.

We had high expectations when arriving to Black Rock Hotel. The reception hall is huge and modern interior. The rooms are big too and huge bathroom. The salt from the pacific however damages the hotel and doors and windows open with difficulties, and the color from the hotel goes off, but this does not bother.

The service in the hotel is what most bothered us. The cleaning of the rooms very lousy and towels are replaced or not (we did not understand the logic), soap is not refilled, we run out of toilet paper and had to ask for more because they missed it to refill, beds were not made, floor was dirty etc etc. We also did not understand the bar, which closes at 8:30 for food. They were not even ready for some fries! Which bar closes at 8:30?

We also considered the noisy fridge as very disturbing. The compressor works all night and you cannot deactivate it. A pity because the sound of the waves of the pacific would be so nice to hear!

Beds are nice and huge (180cm) but we don’t remember such bad mattress: uncomfortable and noisy full of lumps!

View from the balcony is top! Nice location that needs to be maintained and service to be improved heavily.

We want to make things right! Being right on the ocean, our patio doors are "Patio Storm Door". They provides additional insulation against outside elements and help save on energy. They reduce heat loss in the winter and heat build-up in the summer. The Miele fridges are designed for maximum energy efficiency and a minimum use of resources. The noise is often from the high efficiency compressor and fans running longer or slower to be more efficient. We look forward to hearing from you,

Lovely location and the hotel could be amazing with some management. Staff are good but service is slow and really difficult to eat on site. Only 120 covers in the restaurants and over 350 people in the hotel. Really need to rethink kitchen and restaurant options. It is a remote location and captive audience all very hungry.
Other comments room was not cleaned in 3 nights and no explanation as what to do with towels abandoned outside the door.
Gym very basic and needed a good clean sand on floor at 8 am not what I would expect of a high quality hotel.
Also needs some outside and maybe inside relax area. Only a few wooden sunbeds near the small pool would be good to have other relaxation areas.
Such a shame could be a brilliant hotel and we had high expectations.

I don't normally write reviews, but I decided to write this because of the amazing service my wife and I received during our wedding at the Black Rock. From the beginning, Emilie and the events team took great care of us. A big appreciation for Megan in Events for helping on our big day. Everyone at the resort was helpful and friendly, from front desk, housekeeping, servers and bartenders. A big compliment to the Sous Chef, Andreanne, who took the time to meet with us and for the amazing soup made specially for my mother. We had a wonderful experience and we can't wait to return.

An overall wonderful resort with the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. My wife and I watched a bald eagle over look the bay while we had dinner and drinks. Special shout out to guest services manager Christian Longpre who remembered on the second day my name, room number, AND that we were from Dayton, Ohio.

Room Tip: I was very happy with the room in the lodge. Frequent rains made it far easier for dinner
