If you are looking for a restful location, with beautiful views and rugged nature... this is it. The Black Rock Resort is a great hotel with a spectacular location, great rooms, excellent spa. Great place to take nature walks with the Wild Pacific Trail at your doorstep and Big Beach for exploring the tidal pools.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view room... April and May are great months to goo not as busy as the summer months...

We came here on a 2 day special after spending 4 nights in Tofino, so couldn't help making comparisons. We did not have an ocean view room, so found the forest view pleasant but not spectacular. Perhaps giving view rooms with the deals would bring clients back? The bathroom is amazing. Great shower and tub and very roomy. The bed was comfortable. The furniture in the living room was nice looking but uncomfortable and the decor was modern and sparse. Our dinner meal in the restaurant was very tasty, although I had to send mine back to reheat as it was not hot. We were above a wedding reception and it was noisy until 11:15, but did stop after that. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the nearby trail and also drove to the lighthouse and loved the loop trail there. Ucluelet is quaint and we enjoyed the harbour seals and browsing in the shops.

Room Tip: Ocean view would be nice here.

We visited the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in mid-April for a two night stay. Immediately upon arriving, we were wowed by the beautiful front lobby and the exceptionally friendly and helpful front desk staff. Prior to our arrival, we upgraded to an ocean view room and were we ever glad we did. Our bed had a fabulous window that looked right at the ocean and crashing waves. We slept with the window open so we could listen to that amazing sound all night.
The room itself was perfect - a little kitchenette, a large comfy couch, a decent size balcony and a fabulous bathroom with soaker tub. The waterfall shower was one of our favourite amenities!
On top of our wonderful room, we visited both restaurants (the food was amazing) as well as the spa - Drift - where my husband had a relaxing, soothing massage and I received a calming, rejuvenating facial. We also took our time discovering the Wild Pacific Trail for a few hours on Saturday morning. The trail was fairly empty so we were really able to take our time and get some great photos.
We will absolutely return to the Black Rock Resort and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Room Tip: We highly recommend a ocean view room.

The only negative thing I have to say is that we could only stay one night. We loved this hotel. Everyone was so welcoming and nice. The woman who checked us in even called once we were in our room for about 15 minutes to check if we were happy. That's never happened before. We had a room in the main building. They have huge windows and large balconies. We loved having the door open to the sound of the surf even though it was cold. Some people may have issues with privacy as the balconies are all connected but we didn't care. It was too beautiful to worry about. The room had a great fire place and a great, modern bathroom with a heated floor. We ate at the restaurant and had a delicious meal. Our waitress was engaging and professional. The view was very fine. I could see this as a place to stay awhile and rejuvenate. We didn't do anything with the spa but if it's like the rest of the hotel, I believe it is wonderful.

Room Tip: I don't know how the outbuildings are-best to ask about those, but the rooms in the main buildin...

The food here was excellent, healthy portions. Friend had sushi and she said it was the best she had ever had. Staff was friendly. Cheaper eating in the lounge than the restaurant and beautiful view as well.

I know this is for the resort but could not find their lounge or restaurant on trip advisor. If you're staying in the resort these restaurants are a great place to eat.

Stunning views and great service! We stayed in for two of the three nights, cooked lovely meals, drank some wine and enjoyed the breathtaking views in front of the fireplace! A highlight of our trip! Walk the trail is a must ... Aussies Abroad!

Room Tip: Its all about the ocean views!
