This is a hands-on aquarium; most of the sea life is in open-top tanks and you are welcome to gently lift things up. It is also a catch-and-release facility; everything goes back into the bay at the end of the season. Price of admission is a bit steep, but worth it.

This place is not cheap to enter ($14/per person) considering the scale of the aquarium. They are the world's only catch and release aquarium and just for that, it's worth every penny to support this great cause. There are tanks of sea stars and cucumbers which you can touch - would be an amazing experience for kids. We actually managed to take a glimpse of the pacific octopus in one of the tanks and it's really amazing.

Staff was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. You can ask him anything and he would be able to give you an answer which adds to the whole experience.

Wow it was tiny a tiny area...as my wife was paying entry i was going to tell her not to but it was too late. 35 bucks we were in for about 5 mins. Was hoping for staff to help with a guided tour or something for the price but they were too busy texting.

Best place by far is shaw discovery center in sidney...blows this place out of the water by far.

What a treasure! This small aquarium permits up close encounters with creatures and plants of the local ocean. There are also tanks of touchable sea life, star fish, snails, shells with hermit crabs etc--fantastic for children(all the tanks are at their level) and adventurous adults. All of the creatures are released back into the local ocean at the end of the season. The staff were friendly and informative--it's a very relaxed environment. Must see.
