Perfect for a two-night getaway. Great view of the ocean. Lovely to hear the waves at night. It has a little fridge which is good for breakfasts. Nice balcony. A few steps away from the trail and a private beach. Staff was terrific and accommodated a last-minute change in plans Only minor complaint - needs better towels. Lovely bathroom but couldn't believe the towels. Have never seen such thin towels !!

Enjoyed the sabbatical. Didn't find it noisy as others have but we were in the upstairs 2 bedroom. And no one else was around except some fishermen to our left. Did find it strange the cabins has no cot for my extra teenager or an extra blanket as my teenagers cannot share blankets when in the same bed. The young gils at the desk did try and we ended up with 3 throws to help the situation. On our first night the dishwasher leaked a lot and after we cleaned it up we let the front desk know but nothing could be done. I would have really liked a discount as I did all the dishes by hand but was told there were many hoops to jump through so the girl could not give me one. There was also a pain of glass missing between our master bedroom and the bathroom meaning you could watch each other in the toilet! All in all a nice place but a few changes would be better.

We stayed 3 nights at The Cabins with our 2 Newfoundland dogs and it was perfect. We were a short walk away from the best hiking trail and a beautiful beach. The staff were exceptional and met all of our needs. They provided extra towels for our dogs and water dishes. Out side our cabin was a hose hooked up for rinsing them off. It was quiet and relaxing. The BBQ on the deck was the best!!
Thank you so much for our stay, we will be back again and again!!!

Wow what a place to relax. We are travelling for 4months in a camper trailer, with two little kids. Was gret to get out or the somewhat wet trailer and into a cabin. Complete with spa....and washing machine bathe access to the beach and pacific west trail really makes it. Oh and did I mention the deer and humming birds which are around the cabins.

We loved our stay at the beautiful cabins, fully self contained with everything you could think of. We stayed in the sabbatical which was luxurious. we loved coming home from walks an relaxing by the gas fireplace. We had a deer visit us every morning in the paddock outside our balcony. Loved the spa bath with view to the forest. The washing machine and dryer are very convenient as we were travelling for a long time. staff were very friendly and helpful and free parking and wifi were a bonus. beautiful pine forest walks and log beaches :-)

We decided to spend a week at the "Sabbatical", two bedroom, in Ucluelet. Months in advance, we were so excited, viewed the homepage again and again.
It was beautiful, no question! We got suite no. 16. The two bedrooms were on the top floor, street level. There was more than enough storage space for luggage and other stuff. The first bedroom had a Queen-Bed, LCD-TV and a bathroom with shower. The second bedroom also had a Queen-Bed, LCD-TV and a bathroom with jacuzzi-bathtub. Unfortunately we did not have the bath-tub that opens into the bedroom (like displayed on the homepage).
From the main entrance door you have to take the stairs to reach the living room downstairs. It offers a full and spacious kitchen, a dining area, a propane gas fireplace, a bathroom with shower, a comfortable couch and LCD-TV and washer and dryer. From the living area, you can reach the roofed patio via a slide door. The patio offers a gas BBQ.

Unfortunately, and thats a thing that wasn't visible from the homepage, the Sabbatical is located directly at the main road. From the bedrooms, you can constantly hear the cars driving by. The whole suite was kind of clairaudient. Since the neighbours upstairs changed about 2 times during our stay, it was not only their fault. Every step, every moving chair. You could hear it very loud and clear even in the living area, two storys below. That was a huge minus!
Since we have two little children (3 and 9 months), they are going to bed early and we are not the night owls either. There was a sign, saying that after 11 pm it should be quiet in the house, but you can not be banned from moving a chair. I had roubles falling asleep almost every night, and sometimes even the kids woke up.
Then there is the roofed patio. On the pictures it looked like you can sit out there, even during rain. In fact, the roof is so high up, it does not help with anything. The patio was dirty and soaking wet during rain. We did not have any cushions on the chairs either. I guess that was because of the rain. So, in the end we could not use the BBq, since it was too dirty to let the kids crawl around and it was not really comfortable to sit out there.

But I can not complain about the service. Every second day our garbage was removed. For the time in between, there was a bear-proof garbage bin just outside the house. We had dish-washer detergent for the dishwasher and when we asked for more, we got them without any problems. There was also laundry detergend, so we were able to use the washer without buying it.
We were always asked if we had any needs and I am sure they would have done anything possible to make our stay more comfortable.

So, after one week our opinion is: The Sabbatical is beautiful! I loved the little details, the style and the whole idea. BUT, it is not perfect. That does not mean we would not return to the Cabins. But not into the Sabbatical again. Next time we try a cabin without wall-to-wall neighbours. :-)

It makes a world of difference to stay in a bright timber frame cabin with all of the modern furnishing as opposed to just a square traditional box style accommodation or an old and tired cabin. Cabins are in a beautiful forest setting within earshot of the ocean. For us it was important that our stay was pawsitively friendly; hardwood floors and clean corner to corner on arrival meant no signs or smells from previous four legged chillers. Our dog loved the abundance of stick chasing on the beach and walking the "Wild Pacific Trail". If there was anything negative it would be too small to mention, I would not want to overshadow a memorable vacation.
