Before I get to the restaurant, let me expound on the beauty of Chambly. it is basically 30 minytes from downtowm Montreal depending on traffic. It is gorgeous with the rapids, the shoppes, the restaurants, the flowers and trees and lawns everywhere plus the marina with the boats and the picnic areas. It is New England meets Old Quebec....

The restaurant Tre Colori is situated on 1696 rue Bourgogne (450-658-6653) or just follow the crowd to this Italian haven. The restaurant has been family owned since 1967 and there is history on the wall decorations plus the menu. It's the type of restaurant where the owners are cousins, the chef is family and the older family members come to hang out. If you are lucky you will get the Julia Roberts deadringer for your waitress..ask for Catherine.
Well, the food is to die for...huge portions, huge selection and mouth watering. If you don't see what you want, they'll do it for you. We started with a plateful of boccacio bread (spelling), then I had a small (!!) cheese pizza..very cheesy and thin thin crust..and then I had spaghetti au gratin whuch I asked for..my friends had a salad plus an Italian poutine!! plus apasta dish with filet mignon and veal and pasta...Each dish had us "kvelling" with mmmm.....mmmmm.....I couldn't handle dessert but my friend had a cannoli that looked incredible. There is also a huge wine cellar ...I hear they have $700 bottles of wine that get sold!!
The owners came over to chat and were so friendly as was Catherine who tried to get me to have dessert....just couldn't

The whole experience on a nice summer evening was magnificent. A wonderful setting with exquisite Italian cuisine and exceptionally nice Italian people who love being at the restaurant.

We left at 11.30 pm and there were still people coming in...they have pickup and deliver and are open 24/7 except Christmas and New Years....lunch and dinner...

Plan an outing...take in the sites (the RAPIDS!!) and then treat yourself to the whole Italian experience.

A quaint family restaurant with friendly staff. I've been eating pizza from this place for over 20 years. You won't find better anywhere on the south shore! When relatives come from the U.S, they ask for this pizza. Excellent house lasagna too.
