“Absolutely gorgeous, dog-friendly!”
Reviewed January 24, 2012

Lighthouse Park is well-known to many West Vancouver natives, but is also a popular tourist attraction in the summer months. Expect to see dogs here, and know that they will be off-leash. The trails to the left hand side of the parking lot as you come in are rougher and not great for small children. However, if you choose this area of the park, you will avoid the crowds that tend to flock to the easier paths in the dry season (May-October). If you can, try to avoid a Sunday afternoon when the sun is shining--the park is VERY popular then and you will have trouble even finding a parking place.
Bring good shoes, your dog, a bottle of water and maybe something to eat as you may find that you love this place so much, you don't want to leave! There are many places to get great views of the water and it's even possible to get down to the beach, so don't forget your camera as well.

“Don't know why”
Reviewed January 19, 2012

But I like Lighthouse Park. It's a temperate rainforest, the closest to Vancouver that I know of, and worth taking a look at. Take your hiking shoes.

“Lovely!”
Reviewed January 19, 2012

Located close to downtown Vancouver, this park has many easy walking trails full of large trees some of which are old growth. Take plenty of water and also enjoy the wonderful views of the ocean.
