Having lived in West Vancouver for most if my life, I have walked the Sea Walk from Ambleside to Dundarave and beyond many times. It doesn't matter if the sun doesn't shine, it is wonderful in all weather! I walk with my husband, with friends or alone. It is good exercise and is good for the soul! The view is beautiful and always interesting with small boats and big ships passing by. One can also sit on the Sea Walk and people watch!

We love this location, this is one of the nicest walks, I think, in the lower mainland. You can even catch the bus to get here if you don't have a car. (First of all, the photos that other people have attached for this attraction are not of West Van, but mistakenly of Stanley Park in the West End of Vancouver).
Ambleside at the east end of the seawall has the feel of a quaint beach side town. Walk west, past Lawson Park along the seawall with no fear of cyclists or rollerbladers, as they are not allowed on the seawall. There is a separate off - leash doggy path next to the seawall for your pet to walk on - what a novel idea. Walk past all the interesting apartment buildings including the lovely Pink Palace on your way to the village of Dundarave, some 25 minutes. Along this walk we have seen the occasional sea otter & the more common bald eagle. As you approach Dundarave you come upon beach access and the pier to walk out on. Then walk the block up the hill to Dundarave, another quaint village of shops, stop at one of the many coffee shops, before returning to the seawall for you return trip back.
What a great way to pass an afternoon by.

The West Vancouver Sea Walk is a real pleasure. To walk it every day, rain or shine is an exhilarating experience. Locals and visitors alike are seen walking jogging, or just enjoying the views along this splendid pathway along the ocean.

Love this walk, but it's not the Stanley Park Seawall as the above description of this attraction reads. The West Van Seawall is a beautiful, shorter version with a separate dog run, close to restaurants and pubs and terminating near Park Royal Shopping Centre. If you're looking for a nice hour or so walk, this is perfect. Beautiful views towards UBC, Stanley Park and the Lions Gate Bridge. Love it!
