Looked for a Michelin star restaurant to treat my wife on a special occasion and came across Drakes in RIpley. They do a fixed price menu for lunches on some weekdays so looked excellent value. The closed front door was slightly daunting but once inside we were treated to a culinary treat. My wife does not eat meat but there were adequate choices. The appetisers and the three course we had were beautifully presented and delicious. The wine was pricey but the cellar is rated as one of the best in the country by the good food guide so the quality was evident- we had an excellent Sauvignon . Even the bread was a treat and the coffee came with lovely treats to tittilate the palate. Very attentive staff and lovely ambience. Will certainly be going again!
