“Great People. Good Fitness Room. Tired Guest Room”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

All in all, this hotel is an average stay. The staff was gracious and welcoming and the fitness room/pool was terrific. I also liked the fact that there was a metro stop that took me straight into downtown Vancouver nearby.

My room was kind of tired, though -- there were stains on the carpet and trim banged off the walls in places. That surprised me. I was also frustrated that there was no refrigerator in the room and ice buckets that held about 27 cubes total in the room.

Finally, I was frustrated by the lack of free Internet ANYWHERE in the hotel -- not in the guest rooms, not in the lobby, not in the Link business center. That was a pain.

I'd stay here again if I was on business and the client were paying. The location and the people are good. But I wouldn't spend my own money on this hotel.

Room Tip: One side of the hotel looks out over the Canadian Rockies. The other looks out over a car dealershi...

Dear wferriter

Thank you for taking the time to post your remarks regarding your recent stay with us. I have forwarded your concerns to our housekeeping and engineering team. Together they will address all the issues you reported. We do apologize for the fact that the room was not up to the standards that you expected and we appreciate you alerting us to these issues.

I do understand your frustration with the lack of a refrigerator, it is true that not all of our rooms have small refrigerators, however we do have a limited amount available upon request. We also have some rooms that do have fridges and microwaves and this type of room can be requested when booking. Whenever you are staying and have any special requests please just call our Guest Services and we will attempt to meet your needs in order to make your stay plesant and comfortable. We do hope we will have the opportunity to be of service to you again in the future and once again thank you for sharing your compliments and concerns with us.

Best regards

I received a great deal through Priceline.com for this hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and the room was clean. The bedding and furniture had been recently redone and seemed quite modern. The tiles in the bathroom of our particular room looked a little sad, but the room was quiet, clean, and the beds quite comfortable.
The hotel seems to be designed with the business traveler in mind. It is directly across the street from a large mall with many choices of restaurants, shops and a movie theater. It was a short 5 minute drive to the skytrain which we took into downtown Vancouver for the day. I've driven in downtown Vancouver previously and found it to be an extremely stressful place to drive. Nothing could have been more relaxing than to stay a little out of town and take the skytrain in! A bonus for tourists is that you can enjoy seeing the city on the way in and out without focusing on driving and your day pass on the skytrain also works on the seabus which is a fun cruise across the harbor and back.
Hotel security seemed excellent. The parking garage was secured and monitored and only guests with key cards can use the elevators to go up to guest rooms from the lobby.
I would stay at this hotel again.

This is a very nice Sheraton property with large and comfy rooms. Front desk and other employees were always smiling and willing to provide any help or information. Is not the place for the one looking to happy hours full of people, but instead a quitter place with an excellent restaurant and bar.

If you book a room there, ask for the ones with mountain view. Just the view is enough to fell well in that place.

Five stars for the wonderful staff at the Sheraton Guildford in Surrey. We have stayed here a number of times and have been pleased on each visit. They are pet friendly too, so bring your furry best friend with you!

Location is about a half hour from Vancouver. We'll usually make this our first stop, then the next day head out to Lynn Canyon and North Van on the way to downtown Vancouver and spend the next couple nights in Vancouver.

Great value, nice accommodations, and all-around solid property.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view room.

Stayed overnight with corporate Christmas party rate. Only $92! Well worth the double queen room. Duvets are so comfy and do are beds. Could've stayed in them for days watching the flat screen lg tv. Big room with a view of the huge Canadian flag ....and the mall and auto sales centre....ok the view is def lacking but if you wanna stay somewhere you can access transit from - this is it. Very good location to get somewhere else. Nice bathroom. Starbucks coffee in room. Awoke to a snowy morning and we were cozy in the room - but could smell the snow thru the window that actually opens. For surrey this is your best bet!

I have heard a number of bad things about the crime rate in Surrey so when I found out I had to go there for work I made sure I stayed in a safe neighborhood. This hotel is right across the street from a fairly large mall and parking was included in my rate. I really didn't stay in the hotel much as i was out early and back in quite late but it did the job. The staff seemed professional but not overly friendly while checking in (the only time I talked or saw anyone). The room was comfortable and clean so I left happy.

We have mixed feelings about this hotel, our first impressions were good. We booked for 3 nights. The room was very nice at a reasonable rate. The parking is underground and gated, with security cameras. The pool and spa is very nice. The beds are very comfortable. We had a restful sleep. The downside, is that internet access and bar fridges cost extra per day, and the hotel isn't close to a skytrain station. They do offer a 3 times daily shuttle. We would walk to London Drugs to get a daypass, and take a connector bus to catch the skytrain. And the parking lot isn't as secure as the hotel would like you to believe.

Our car was broken into, two electronic items were stolen. The woman at the front desk was rude, telling us that they had nothing at all to do with the parking, that it was managed by Impark. She even questioned that I even had items missing at all.

We asked to speak to a manager, but she said that none were working at that time in the morning (9am). She said that she spoke to the security guards on duty and that they didn't notice anything.

Our stay at the hotel was soured because of the way the woman at the front desk reacted to our problem. We understand that cars get broken into, but she didn't have to be so rude with us, considering that we were being reasonable, and not talking loudly or making a scene.

I would have liked to talk to a manager at the time of our stay, but feel that we were stonewalled by the front desk.
