“A hidden gem in the heart of rural France”
Reviewed July 31, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Stargazer cottage is a peaceful haven in a lovely rural location. Not for those seeking a lively nightlife, but if you enjoy, nature, wildlife, animals and good company this is the place to stay.
The owners Mo and Steve are the best hosts ever. Nothing is too much trouble. We have been directed to lovely lakes, gardens, local markets and interesting towns. There is plenty to do and see but you need a car.
If you don't fancy a trip out there is a beautiful garden to relax in and a large vegetable garden lovingly looked after by the owners where you can help your self to wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables in season.
The cottage is beautifully restored and traditionally furnished. It is very clean and extremely comfortable.
Nearly forgot... the night sky is sensational. If you enjoy star gazing its worth staying just to watch the stars.

“Best holiday to date”
Reviewed September 9, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Wow. The cottage has everything you need, lovely gardens, well equipped kitchen and it was very tastefully decorated and very clean. Maureen and Steve were fantastic and gave us so many ideas for things to do in this wonderful part of France. The nearby lake has everything for you to have a long enjoyable day. All in all the perfect place for relaxing, eating and drinking and admiring the stars. We'll be going back.

“Hidden gem!!”
Reviewed September 8, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

If you are looking for the perfect rural location, then look no further! This place is absolutely ideal if you're seeking a quiet holiday away from the hustle and bustle of home life.

The cottage is a beautifully converted barn, set in the middle of a farm, and you are quite literally mingling with the chickens and sheep, much to our 16 month old son's delight! Each morning, before he was even out of his pyjamas, he was dragging us outside for another adventure, he absolutely loved it.

You couldn't meet a more friendly couple than Steve and Maureen. They will do anything they can to help you find your way around using their extensive knowledge of the area.

We particularly enjoyed our trip to the local lake/beach setting, and had the whole place to ourselves! Also, being able to help yourselves to all the home grown fruit and veg was such a lovely touch; our son particularly loved going to pick his own raspberries each day! The garden is a lovely place to sit and relax just listening to the sounds of nature (also a great place to watch the stars at night!).

Other random things to note:
The beds are so comfy!
The cottage more than comfortably accommodated four adults and a child in our case, the large bedroom fits a cot with ease (and has a blackout blind which meant he wasn't up at the crack of dawn!).
The cottage is extremely clean and well maintained.
There are just enough home comforts (including wifi and freeview tv) thrown in for you to not feel completely cut off from the world.

We weren't sure if this holiday would be a bit too remote for our taste but we absolutely loved every minute and are already thinking about returning next year.
