Oh this place is so wonderful! Imagine what it must have been like to be the owner of this fabulous estate over the years and the stories it's walls could tell. We lay in our massive bed in a room bigger than our house listening to silence and looking at the clear starry sky. It was bliss! Each morning we cycled round the local lanes stopping on our way home at the cafe in Blet for coffee and croissants. The locals were charming and welcoming and the drivers are so courteous towards cyclists we were amazed (and grateful!) Max was in charge of the house and helped with everything we needed from computer printing to a homemade apple pie. Luckily there is already talk of a return trip next year and we can't wait. Roll on another languorous week at Chateau Charly getting fat on bread and pastries. Divine!

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms!

We have just returned from a fabulous week at Chateau Charly celebrating my 40th birthday, such an amazing place, our kids loved the pool, this has a security cover when not in use which put our minds at rest when the kids were playing in the huge garden.
We enjoyed walking into the local town for coffee and cake in the morning, then spent lazy days round the pool followed by relaxing bbq and rounders in the garden.
This is the best place we have ever stayed in, immaculate accommodation we will definitely be back.

We have recently spent a week at Chateau Charly . 17 of us in total and had an amazing week. Such a beautiful chateau and very well equipped for all ages.
We had 5 birthdays while we were there and celebrations apart from eating, included a murder mystery evening based on Allo Allo. We also had a mini olympics with teams of three all doing various sports which were chosen for their age suitability!!
The chateau is set in beautiful grounds with a heated pool. We didn't use the available chef as we brought our own with us in the shape of our daughter and granddaughter who cooked all our meals to a very high standard.
Our ages ranged from 10 -82 and as the weather was very hot we (the older ones) spent a lot of time lying around the pool
There is a small village very near for the morning bread run and bikes to use around the grounds
Max the manager was on call for us and was more than helpful and friendly when we couldn't work the internet !
I would thoroughly recommend this chateau for groups of family and friends

We have just returned from a fabulous week at Chateau Charly for my wifes 50th birthday. The rooms were beautiful and spacious with gorgeous bathrooms. We opted for a self catering basis as two of our group are chefs, The kitchen was perfect and well equipped. The were 3 fridges and a freezer, dishwasher and all tools to allow you to cater for everyone. There is an excellent bakery very close by in Blet and another 3 miles up the road. We cycled everyday as we are keen cyclists and the area is superb for this. We went go karting at Magny Cour which is a superb track. There is a town 8 miles south that has a fantastic market on Wednesday. The pool is a small walk from the property but not an issue. We held our own Olympics as the grounds are very large.
Things that we took to ensure a comfortable stay were an ice machine, a bed for my daughter for our room (although I am sure the owner could have arranged this) 3 extra sun loungers for the pool, tea towels. There were a couple of spare bicycles to use around the grounds. Highlights were seeing Otters and King fishers in the small river next to the Chateau.
Max the manager of the property was always on call should we need anything.
This is a great Chateau for family and friends and we have no complaints as it offers excellent value for money and lots of charm with a very friendly homely feel.

We stayed here a year ago and vowed we would be back.
Health circumstances prevented that till now but we are hoping to be there in August with our extended family.
Where else can you have the whole family together in luxury , in such a safe and seven setting?
Recommend you try it
