Good place, good rooms, nice pools - slipery though. Overall it's a great destinations. Problems : restaurants have no A/C - Expensive Internet - food is ok, not bad, but not great.
biggest problem - Overall the whole complex is understaffed.

Room Tip: avoid pool area

This is for sure a place for families. You dont have to worry about a thing. NIce beach and amenities. It is hard to decide what you eat, and if you´re not pleased with the choices, the manager can order whatever you like. Kids have plenty of activities, and if you have a baby, they have babbysitter services as well as a full prepared kitchen. Every night they set up a different party, there is no boredom overthere.

The location is beautiful. A breath-taking view, white dunes, the clearest sky you will ever see. Then comes the human factor. There is so much plastic and other garbage on the beach that it becomes easy to understand why there is no wildlife there. Buggies drive up and down, leaving impressive oil stains that drain into the sea you're expected to swim in. I watched a sea turtle, judging from its size, twice my age choke to death on the sand. Heartbreaking. Service is no better, more often than not you feel they'd be happier if you were dead.

The good news: easy to find a better place to go. Bad news: I came. Simple as that. This is Vila Galé on the cheap...and Vila Galé at the best of times is not luxury. All inclusive: the food is dire, the wine is Vila Galé (Alentejano..not bad), the room is small, the service is um prepared, un trained (try to find a manager...more elusive than a clean beach), the beach is dangerous because of the VW buggies. Recomendation: do not waste your mney coming here.

Room Tip: Rooms at some other all inclusive hotel.

We stayed at this resort for seven nights at the end of June and the overall the experience was very pleasant. We have three kids aged 6, 4 and one who is almost 2 and the kids loved this place. The kids area was nice with a nice kids' pool. However, the main pool did not have an area for kids. To me, that was one of the big downfalls. Aside from that the food was good, the hotel was clean, and the beach was beautiful. If you are going with kids make sure to keep a close eye on them when on the beach because cars and buggies go up and down very fast. They are not supposed to but since there is no one watching...

A couple things to keep in mind: 1) only one person at the resort speaks English so brush up on your Portuguese as much as you can; 2) if you are a foreigner, the ATM does not allow you to withdraw money (at least not mine from the U.S.); 3) everything is negotiable so don't pay the price anyone gives you right away.

This is our first time experience in an all inclusive resort and it was a pretty good experience.
All food and drinks ( include alcohol) are free. Do not expect a quiet place since it is full of families with childrens.
The badroom is clean and furniture are new. Air cond works well. Cleaning service is ok. There is a good variety of food, with salad, pasta, meat, chicken, pork and fisch. Sometines we had shrinp. No lobster. Lot of juice and coco wather.
The staff is very polite and helpfull.
The pool is crowded with childrens and the beach is wild. Not recomendable for swimming.
All the recreational activities outside the hotel are charged ( car rental, worse rental, kitesurf and surf classes)
We recomend to families?
