We came here for a hike and I was immediately impressed with the peace and scenic views. Around the pond it felt like a garden with cleverly placed benches and mowed paths. An abundance of wild flowers and butterflies. The visitor center had plenty of literature and an excellent map of the paths on the grounds. We hiked about 4 miles or so passing through meadows, woodlands and along a pretty river. It was very peaceful. There are no vending machines or cafe here, thank God, but there is a drinking water fountain and at the back of the visitor center is a small verandah where we sat on benches, eating our packed lunches and admiring the beautiful views. A wonderfully quiet non commercialized gem.
