We often do 'on spec' eating. We never know when we are going to be wanting a meal, but the hotel food was way out of our price range.
The local corner shop did beers and a cake, but we wanted a more substantial meal.
Booked after a wander around La Bouille village. Wanted to eat in Rouen, but, it poured with rain. Dog wet. Partner wet, me very wet and annoyed by the time, NUVI had tried to take us via the main road (still closed across the Seine - check if you go there) for the umpteenth time.
A beer, nibbles, order in ..... a fantastic meal.
Le Fox (wire haired fox terrier) has been accepted everywhere we go.
Tucked up under the table - she snoozed as we tucked into an excellent LOCALLY SOURCED meal. The owner & wife were entertaining, in so far, we believed their English was a little better than we thought. Our French was improved with the technical words of french cookery.
Large portions, excellent food and a very good atmosphere.
