“Wonderful B&B!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2013

We couldn't have had a nicer experience here. Dean and Susan Harvey and their children were so gracious. Our room was large and pleasant and the breakfast served was very tasty. Dean kept our coffee cups full and we felt very welcome. Dean is British and Susan grew up in New York so it was easy to communicate with them. They recommended a restaurant in a nearby town that was fantastic too. This B&B's setting in the quiet countryside was perfect for us after 3 days in Paris (the stars were bright and horses were outside our window). We highly recommend this B&B to our fellow travelers!

We have stayed at several B&B’s world-wide and yours is truly one of our favorites. We brought with us our 3 year old boy and he was treated as one of your “lads”. He loved giving attention to your cats and meeting your dogs. We adored the time you took to put him on the pony and show him around your farm. And your children are some of the most polite and courteous kids we’ve met and we appreciate the help getting settled in and making us feel comfortable, even interacting with our toddler. Dean is a very knowledgeable host and always willing to share that local insight. Was also a delight to just talk to. We sampled some of his wife wonderful cooking and baking! Our room was very spacious, even having a single for our son taking up floor space, it was never cramped. And we loved the King Size bed and a real shower saves time and effort!

We got a fair amount of the sightseeing done, but didn’t feel pushed to see it all as we now have a place we’d be happy to come back to. See you again soon!

La Beauconniere is an exceptional B&B. This beautifully restored brick farmhouse is set in the peace and quiet of the Normandy countryside. The rooms (all with en suite bath) are large, clean and comfortable. Guests have access to the kitchen and dining room, which is convenient if you don't want to eat out all the time.

The hosts, Dean and Susan, made us feel right at home. Dean is a font of information on local history and places of interest. He recommended some good restaurants and even made the reservations for us. We were never disappointed! He really went out of his way to make sure that we had a good time.

All in all, we had a great holiday and have already booked for next year.

Room Tip: All the rooms are fairly large, clean and comfortable.

As you arrive at the top of the tree lined drive and glimpse the beautiful restored old farm buildings you realise you have arrived somewhere special. And then the icing on the cake, you meet Dean, Susan and their children. We were immediately struck by their friendly welcome, attention to detail (such as remembering all our names) and pride in their business. The guest building which is separate from the family's house has been carefully furnished with all you need - access to fridge, crockery, microwave for stay in picnics or suppers is a useful touch, the bedrooms are huge and all ensuite.
Dean is a knowledgeable host who loves a good conversation and will help you find great places to visit or to book your evening meal.
Susan is an enthusiastic horsewoman and took us out for a gentle hack around the local countryside - kindly set to my "rusty not been on a horse for 5 years" level.
This is a quiet, beautiful B&B, off the beaten track run by the most charming family

Room Tip: All the bedrooms are large and en suite.

We loved our stay at La Beauconniere! There was plenty of room for our family of 5...our girls LOVED the bunk beds and there was a Pack N Play ready for 1 year old son . We really enjoyed our daily chats with Dean who was a wealth of knowledge about the area and gave us some great tips for sight seeing. Even though the weather left a lot to be desired, we had an amazing time. We would definitely come back again and will recommend La Beauconniere to all our friends visiting the Normandy/Mount St. Michelle area.

We quite enjoyed our stay at La Beauconniere. Our family suite was spacious and comfortable. There was always something freshly baked for breakfast which was delicious. Starting the day off with some good conversation with Dean got us going for the 3 nights that we were there. Pretty interesting stuff were discovered at this farmhouse! After a long day of site seeing, it was just nice to relax in a quiet space.

What a welcome at this beautiful B&B. Dean, Susan and all the children (plus Phillipe) all came out to greet us. We had a somewhat "rough trip" down from Doncaster, eurotunnel and across to lamberville so were somewhat exhausted on arrival. Within 10 mins of Dean and his exuberant and enthusiastic welcome, we were rejuvenated ready to unpack and with Deans help, set off out for dinner. We also avoid trip advisor as just one bad review can put you off, but on this occasion we wanted to ensure that people considering a stay here don't be put off by the August review ...... Dean responded in true Dean style and Steve and we agree, it takes both guests and hosts to make it a good or bad stay! We loved our time there. Our daughter loved the opportunity to horse ride 'Susan style' And says it was the best part of her holiday.
You could not wish for more knowledgable hosts of the area. We chose to stay at La Beauconnaire for the beautiful countryside location, the fabulous accommodation and the horse riding opportunity...... Dean and his family were the 'icing on the cake'. Lovely people.
PS Dean ..... Mathew, you know the tall lanky, shy one!!! He even said that your place and YOU were the best part of the while trip!
We would love to return again and stay longer and explore more.
Thank you
