firstly, on arrival we were met by a wonderful hostess , the welcome was most pleasing, amiable and very friendly. My dissapointment was that they had booked myself and my wife into an upstairs room, and when I asked if we could have it changed to a downstairs ground level one, it was done with speed and effeciency with no hassels at all, well done dear. The room was very neat, clean and the view was tremendous, dolfins pranking just beyond the breakers, nice and quiet, no noise etc. The pub is friendly and big with competant staff, we were even served with sundowner snacks, too lekker. The decor leans towards sun, sea and pleasure, a perfect holiday getaway at the sea. Dinner that night was either a buffet or a seafood platter for two, we had the platter, and was it full of seafood ? oh yeah, so much so that we could not finish it. The atmosphere was sort of "family" with chats and laughter , just the kind of break a person needs. Breakfast was a joy with everything available and plenty of it.
The surroundings being so close to the shoreline and rocks was a joy to walk, safe and with plenty of people from the hotel and cottages nearby. All in all a joyous stay and will recommend it to anyone anytime. Well done to Neil, Sandy and your very friendly and effecient staff.

Room Tip: Dont miss out, book well in advance.

My husband, myself, our 10 year old son and his little friend went to Haga Haga Self-Catering Cabanas on the weekend of the 31 August - 2 September. We were booked into Cabana 2 and all I can say is "Wow". It was stunning. The cabana, the view, the people, the restuarant. everything. We could not have asked for a better way to relax and the staff were all so friendly and helpfull. We are definately going back in the near future and I would recommend it to anybody. Waking up to the sound of the waves was amazing. Well done to Haga Haga staff.

It is now our yearly stop over for almost a decade. The hotel is situated on the East coast of South Africa. The management hands on and by now our frends. The beach sooo beautiful. The food very good and the staff the best, the same fases since the first stay.

Room Tip: All rooms sea view, the upper rooms better view, especially for dolphin watching.

We stayed en route from Kei Mouth to East London trekking along the beach. We arrived on the windiest of windy days so this hotel was and oasis and the beer was cold! What more can one want?!?!? Rooms were decent quality although we had issues with hot water which was not ideal. Food was buffet style and really had something for all tastes. The staff and management were very accomodating and even opened up the shop for us so that we could buy some goodies late in the evening. Place could do with updating but the charm is undeniably there, I guess thats why it is such an iconic place in the Eastern Cape.

For years I have been going to Haga Haga Hotel, ever since I was a tiny child, my parents went there, my grandparents went there. The services is great, the food is fantastic, the atmosphere is amazing. The sea being so close that it relaxes you the instant you arrive. For a experience you will never forget!

We have stayed in the self-catering units here several times and absolutely love it. The hotel itself has good amenities and a very atmospheric bar. This is not a chi-chi luxury hotel but a cosy romantic hide-away. The self-catering rooms are exceptionally well-equipped (I have not staying in the regular hotel rooms). They are very comfortable and, being right at the water's edge, have superb views. Haga-Haga itself is a pleasant, quaint little village and the sights of the region are within easy reach. There's not many places like this anymore. Go there while you still can.
