We stayed in the gite for a week and had a wonderful relaxing time. Everything we needed was there, and the hosts supplied us with some wine and a food package on arrival which was very welcome after a long drive. There is lots to do in the area around Saumur and we had some great cycle trips along the river and through the numerous sleepy little villages.
We were given lots of privacy, but at the same time knew that we only had to ask if there was something we needed.

Lovely location and gorgeous place. We stayed in the quaint Blue room with a feather bed and claw footed bath tub with a view over the rear of the house. Lovely rooms and comfy bed
Steve and Tina were great hosts and kept us entertained during the superb home cooked dinner, which included copious amounts of excellent wine .
The house is beautifully decorated and restored (by themselves) and has a lovely feel to it.
We could only stay one night this time but will definitely make a return trip next year.
Loved the animals wandering around too.
Deservedly the no.1 .

Room Tip: Dinner is great and well worth it

This is a wonderful chateau which has been lovingly decorated by Tina and Steve - the photos you see on this site are accurate - all the roome are beautiful.

Breakfast is plentiful and very tasty. We ate with Tina and Steve - an amazing 4 course meal during which they gave us some very helpful tips and ideas for things to do during our stay.

The grounds are extensive and the menagerie of animals are very happy to be visited and petted!

The owners of Moulin de Rabion, Tina and Steve, made us feel welcome from the first phone call. They had a room and dinner available for us at very short notice. They were simply accommodating in every way.

As many people visiting the Loire Valley we spent our days travelling around the wineries. It was lovely returning to Moulin de Rabion in the afternoon where we would sit out on the grounds and continue sampling our purchases. Tina prepared what can only be described as the "best" cheese platter for these afternoons.

The grounds are huge and house donkeys, pigs, chickens, cats and beautiful Molly. On our second night there was another party staying at Moulin de Rabion but this did not effect the excellent service by Tina and Steve.

I would strongly recommend this property to just about everyone as it has a little something to meet all wants and needs. If I get back to the Loire Valley I would definitely stay at Moulin de Rabion.

After spending one night at our pre-arranged accommodation and being made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome the owners, we resolved to rescue the rest of our trip by staying somewhere else. Moulin de Rabion was a lucky find on TripAdvisor and we couldn't have been more thrilled with where we ended up.

Steve and Tina were incredibly warm and welcoming from the outset, and sympathetic to our situation. As two couples, we stayed in the top floor apartment which was perfect for us with a lovely double and twin room at the very top of the château.

Tina was kind enough to do dinner at very short notice for us on the first evening, and we were greeted with what was unanimously voted by our party as 'the best cheese board ever'! Dinner was lovely and very filling, while the grounds lend Moulin de Rabion to being the perfect place to unwind with a couple of bottles of wine and some ferociously contested card games.

Tina and Steve do an amazing job of putting their abundant space to good use, and have pigs, donkeys, goats, chickens and an adorable dog Molly, all of which their encourage you to interact with (I can only image this would be a great draw-card for kids!)

We couldn't have been happier with our stay, and encourage anyone looking for a lovely hideaway in the Loire Valley area to investigate this find further. Thank you Tina and Steve for an amazing couple of days, we're only sad that we didn't book your lovely B&B in the first place!

Room Tip: Get the cheese platter!

We were looking for a week away from everything and thats exactly what we got. The gite was beautiful and equipped with everything we could possibly have wanted as well as needed. Set in the middle of wonderful forest views and walks with an abundance of wildlife we found it immensely relaxing. It was hard enough to leave at the end of the week without having to make sure my wife didn't take Carpet the cat with us! Steve and Tina also gave us a great welcome, especially as we arrived on my wifes birthday. We couldn't have asked anymore of them or of the holiday. We would highly recommend to anyone and although as a 6'4 man I found double bed a bit cramped we would not hesitate to book another stay. A car is definately essential.

Let's just say when my family travels, we prefer modern, sleek hotels with all of the amenities. B&Bs don't normally hold an attraction. However, our stay at Moulin de Rabion was absolutely delightful. After touring the Loire Valley seeing the Chateaus at a rate not preferred by the locals, we arrived tired and hungry. Steve and Tina greeted us in their chateau where every room yielded charm in it's own unique way. We were then served a magnificent gourmet prepared by Tina that hit the spot. Now well fed, we retired to beds as restful as any five star hotel. Breakfast was equally delicious with fruit and buns as fresh and tasty as one can find. Not only is this the perfect oasis to rest in the Loire Valley, it is ridiculously reasonable. Our only regret was we could not stay longer and enjoy our retreat.
