Been to this place a few times and cannot speak highly enough about it. First time we went we did not order starters. The chef explained the kitchen was small and as it was busy it would take a while for the food to be ready. In the interim period we we're kindly given some bread and butter, not mighty white I hasten to add, I mean proper door stop loaf. Nice! Food when it arrived was excellent, large portions, friendly service.
The most recent time I went was a Saturday lunchtime when it was surprisingly quiet. The Landlord was friendly, chatting to locals at the bar. The waiter was excellent, bringing us some water without even ordering it! Food was excellent again.
Overall this is a great, seemingly lesser known pub in the heart of the countryside.
P.S To those who have given this a poor rating, I really think you should stop moaning about being able to eat your own lunch in a pub garden. A pub is a businesses not a public park!
