Owner description: Hawthorne Cottage National Historic Site - Closed for the Season
Reviewed August 9, 2013

Hawthorne Cottage (named for trees not a person) introduces you to a man who made over 20 significant sea voyages. You see period furniture and listen to voice-overs of members of his household.

The guide provided an excellent verbal overview of Capt. Bartlett's history.

Enjoyed our stop at the house. We were given a tour of the house. Very knowledgable staff. Free postcards.

This is just one of several stops in this historic village. Don't miss the Stone Barn, the Wilcox Gardens, the cafe and gift shop, the tunnel.
