Good for: Bar scene
Description: This Austrian inspired ski bar will win you over with it's old world charm and cozy ambience. In the winter ski season, 18 taps of frosty, locally brewed beers are offered here along with a long list of hot and cold cocktail drinks. Don't miss the amazing Elk Frost, a special recipe created by the Elysian Brewmaster! Find a table near the roaring fire and order up one of the best stone fired pizzas or a tall order of nachos from the Snorting Elk Deli. Don't leave without our famous cookies! Apres skiing bliss is here! One thing is for certain at The Snorting Elk- it's one of those places filled with character that you'll always be back to visit. During the summer, "the Elk" has more limited operations, but still offers the same old world charm. Enjoy outdoor and indoor seating. Great beer and drink service. A special summer time bar menu is available, as our Snorting Elk Deli is closed in the summer season. Stop by after your hike, round of disc golf, or mountain bike adventure to cool off and recharge. The Snorting Elk is an integral part of the Pacific Northwest ski scene. It was named Honorable Mention for the Best Ski Bar in the 2010 Resort Awards by Skiing Magazine. Also voted "Best ShotSki" by Skiing Magazine!

This has got to be one of the top ski pubs in all of North America. The ambiance is perfect, in a rustic setting, with a cozy fire blazing. Although I didn't drink beer, the selection looks impressive. And the staff - the staff are fantastic. Used to handling crowds, and keeping things moving. Live music on the weekends, too.

Check out the "Elk"!

While staying at the Alta Crystal Resort, we drove twice to this restaurant. it was a beautiful 15 to 20 minute drive. The first time because it was the only place open when we arrived and the second time because we liked the food. A couple of good German dishes and a nice variety of other meals. Very nice homemade soups. Even though we were there during the off season (when restaurant quality and service can slip), this was not the case at the Snorting Elk.

Over the Summer we discovered this place after going up to Crystal to ride the gondola. We had lunch and I had the most delicious chicken salad sandwich! We've been back FOUR times since then....because I can't get enough of the chicken salad!
Super friendly staff too!

After being on the mountain for several hours in the heat, a nice cold beer at the Snorting Elk sure was delightful!
