When in Prachuap Khiri Khan city, it is impossible not to see the temple sitting on top of a small mountain that soars above the town. A short tuk-tuk ride will take you to the base of the steps, and the climb or the 418 rather steep steps begins. Take some water along, but don't pack any food, as lots of monkeys call the hillside home, and can be a bit aggressive. Once at the top of the long staircase, the views from above are simply amazing. You not only look out over the entire city of Prachuap, but you can see far south down the coastline as far as Ao Manao Beach, and north just as far. The temple on top is small and was closed when I was there, but the attraction is the view itself.
