A first class attraction. We were guided through by a delightful First Nations gentleman who gave an evocative description of the history of the buffalo jump. The building itself is interesting, woven into the side of the Porcupine Hills, so that very little of it appears on the surface.

By necessity the attraction is somewhat remotely located but the scenery and views themselves make the drive worthwhile. The history is well presented and the museum is thoughtfully designed. Make sure to watch the 15 minute film before seeing more and to do the walk. The guides are from the local reserve and one of the highlights was my discussion with the guide at the jump site outdoors. Take a lunch as the food is expensive and not the best. It is a unique site and provides an insight into First Nations life before the invasion.

We very much enjoyed the interpretive centre/museum, we weren’t with our family (2yr old, 4yr old, and 6yr old) and all the children enjoyed the visit. There was enough animals and beautiful displays to keep them all interested. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, making the visit even better. It was very much worth the drive from Calgary. I would recommend buying the Experience Alberta’s History Annual pass, which works at many places in the province, also including the Tyrell museum. The only poor part of the visit was the cafe/restaurant, which we found the food to be overpriced and well.... yucky. We treated the kids to Buffalo burgers and I know that buffalo is a bit more expensive, but the patties were small, previously frozen and included nothing but a bun and processed cheese. Enjoy the museum, skip the cafeteria food!

It was a 25 year ambition fulfilled. It took us about two hours to drive from Calgary but it was well worth the effort. The information centre had been well designed and in sympathy with the environment. It is run by the Blackfoot and some areas are still sacred to them. The staff were friendly and informative. Well deserving of its World Heritage status.

This is a great place to visit. The architect who designed the building should have won any number of prizes because the building, which is buried into the hillside is simply brilliant. We loved the entire site and it is very, very informative about the history of the site, the Blackfoot Indians and the Buffalo. Great for adults and reasonably mature children. This World Heritage site is highly recommended. They also gave us a buck off the admission price because we were US AAA Members!
