The motel was clean and staff was friendly. Rates were on the low end, so I was happy.
They do a continental breakfast that included waffles, cereal, coffee, fruit, yogurt, and on and on. Really quite nice. It's self serve, and I imagine crowded when the place is full, but you could always take your breakfast back to your room if the tables were full.
I got an upgrade to the Executive Suite. The room was a treat. Fireplace, nice firm king size bed, double jacuzzi tub, desk, love seat, table, big screen TV, huge room. Unfortunately, it was a bit noisy. The problem is that the Super 8 is at the bottom of a hill on the main highway just as one enters town. Highway 97 gets a huge volume of heavy truck traffic, and this motel is more or less right where the trucks slow down on the way into town, or put the pedal to the metal on the way out of town. The main issue is with the engine brakes that are used to slow down. I think it's actually illegal to use the engine brakes in city limits, but everyone does. So it's RRRAAAPPPP, RRAAAPPP all day and all night. I would probably ask for a room near the back if I were a light sleeper.
BTW all the motels in town are along the main highway, so you can't really get away from the noise completely.
