The Amherst Shore Country Inn is situated a short drive from where I live. It is not a restaurant that you can just drop in to. You must always have a reservation as you will be asked to choose your meal out of 2 choices for main course and dessert. Last night all four of us had the scallops as main course and lemon rhubarb cake as dessert. You may come early and have cocktail time in the front living area of the Inn, but last night we just arrived in time for dinner. When eating here you are always given a freshly cooked loaf of bread as I starter closely followed by a delicious homemade soup, last night was mushroom. Next there was a wonderfully fresh salad and then main course. The staff who are from this area were very attentive to all our needs, soft music was playing in the background and it was altogether a lovely evening. Oh yes, the dessert was absolutely scrumptious.
This Inn is also a B&B, rents cabins, and also has several cottages on |Baie Vert that it rents out in the summer months. It is a little sister to the bigger Blomidon Inn in Wolfville Nova Scotia. They are both run by the same family who have been Innkeepers in Nova Scotia at least 35 years but possibly longer so they know how to make you comfortable. You will not regret taking the time to make a reservation to eat at the Amherst Shore Country Inn. Bar scene is not applicable and as far as I know there is no place outside for eating. This is a fine dining establishment.
