“nice simple walks”

loved the easy walks and scenery. If you want more challenging hikes, you can also do Table rock from the parking lot (very steep).

Everything from bears to hummers in an exceptionally well maintained marsh setting along the Kootenay River in beautiful Creston, BC.

“A little disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

We drove down from Fairmont; and while the drive was outstanding, the management area was not! All we saw were a few species of geese, one heron, a hornet's nest, and thank goodness several turtles which almost made up for the rest. It is a beautiful area, well maintained with its boardwalk and other walking paths, and with helpful staff. The entry fee was very reasonable. If it hadn't been for the three Artisan's shops we discovered on the return trip and St Mary's lake with its mountain goats and the deer we saw on the trip, it would have been a wasted drive.

“Wonderful wildlife”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

What a great place, we got to see an otter, painted turtles and there are birds everywhere. It was a beautiful day, but we only saw a handful of people there. We would like to come back and spend a whole day here

“World class, down to earth and lovely”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2012

You can hike till you drop...or take a short boardwalk stroll to a bird tower (or two). Thousands of acres of wetland, rich with plant, amphibious and bird life (some mammals too). The interpretation centre is only open in the summer, but self-guiding is easy with maps and signage. Want to see pelicans in the interior of BC? Want to see 15 types of waterfowl in a day? We love it.
