This was our 6th visit since 1995. Unfortunately since that time the premises and food services have gone downhill. It is under new ownership and I believe one of the owners periodically visits but the facility needs work, both physical plant and on staffing levels. We stayed the Monday and Tuesday after Easter. It was clear that the front desk, kitchen, and wait staff were understaffed and that is unfortunate as they should know better after all these years. Of course there are a few standout employees. But the situation puts a lot of pressure on the employees, who were trying their best, but with the workload mistakes were made frequently. I believe it was actually embarrassing to the employees who constantly apologized profusely for the delays, errors and poor performance. Our room was okay, television and Wifi perfect, but in the bathroom a few maintenance items await attention. The pools themselves are great, but they alone can not justify the expense of a visit. Here is a tip: if you think you may want a massage or another service from the SPA, book it early, even a month early as they are frequently booked up and do not have depth of staff or space.

We recently visited Fairmont Hot Springs Pool on our way home from a family vacation skiing in Kimberly, and were super disappointed!!! First it cost us $60.00 (2 adults, 3 small kids) for a one hour swim/soak in the pool, the premises were filthy dirty, and it looks like their has been no up keep of the premises since I was there 10 years ago! The shower doors were either not on the hinges, or were not there at all, there was a sign on one shower that said "OUT OF ORDER", and someone probably a local wrote on it, "since 2013, please fix". Overall we were really disappointed in the price, and it was a Monday morning and it was filthy dirty with hair all over the change room, so that told me it had not been cleaned the night prior. We will never go back, drive an extra few minutes to Radium Hot Springs, it is cleaner, nicer and less expensive!!!

Room Tip: We did not stay at the hotel, we only used the pool.

We have been coming for some four years together with our son and his family. Sadly the premises and services have atrophied over this time. What was once a great destination is now wanting for some serious management attention before this lovely resort becomes a has been. Next time we will be looking for alternatives.

Fairmont Hot Springs Resort has become a favorite for our little family. Free parking and wifi, and the kids love the pools. We stayed 3 nights at the end of March 2014 in the 400-section of the main lodge in a Queen room with kitchenette. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. Kitchenette was well utilized as we prepared simple but leisurely breakfasts for ourselves each morning (housekeeping had no issues with our request to service our room after 10am). Best part about the room is the location: situated just across the lawn from the entrance to the public pools -- very convenient! We enjoyed hiking the trails around the resort after breakfast and soaking, swimming in the pools in the afternoons and evenings. We ate dinner at Mountain Flowers Dining room one evening (food was fabulous) and at Bears Paw Bar & Grill the other 2 nights. Service was a tad slow on all 3 occasions, but staff members were friendly and helpful nonetheless.

Room Tip: Ground-floor rooms in the main lodge facing the pools are most convenient -- exit your room via the...

The hotel is nice and the pool very welcoming, but about the all inclusive it totaly false advertising, you only have a choice of a starter and main plate or a main plate and desert. So where is the all inclusive and you have to pay your nonalcoholic drinks. During breakfast you do not have the choice to make substitution, let's say pancakes from toast, and you have to pay extra for those changes. The food was OK but being from a high class hotel(reheated and not made from scratch), and the service extremely slow. So my question again where is the all inclusive? if you have to pay for extra that is not covered. You see their web page and you don't find any restrictions,
If you are promoting be fair and square do not miss lead. The only positive is the pool and the room even outdated are clean. It is a nice place to stay but false advertising is something different.

Room Tip: Room in front of heated pool

We had a great visit at the Resort. Free parking, free wifi. Comfortable beds. The pools are fantastic. Very family friendly - kids allowed at the bar until 8pm. The bears paw bar had great food & drinks & a nice kids menu. Friendly staff.
The only cons were that some of the activities shown in the activity calendar never happened. There was supposed to be a fire outside every day from 11-5 but never saw it once.... The kids would have liked that. Also the breakfast choices weren't good. The coffee shop had really expensive choices, and the food was not good either. I wouldn't have minded the prices if the foods as at least tasty... Avoid the breakfast bagel.
We really enjoyed the pools and the tubing at the ski hill. Also had a nice balcony, and saw a lot of wildlife.
We will visit again.

I've had the pleasure of staying at fairmont Hot Springs several times, unfortunately this is my first review! My family and I absolutely love coming here.. It's always nothing but pure bliss and relaxation. Fairmont is actually my husband and I's favourite place to visit for a small family getaway. We have a 4 year old daughter, and this hotel definitely caters to family!
I couldn't name one complaint, even if I tried. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff. (Even housekeeping staff are always friendly and all smiles).
The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The beds are luxurious with nice duvets and fluffy pillows.
I love that there are indoor pools, saunas, and an outdoor pool for hotel guests only. It seems you have more privacy then the actual hot spring pools themselves. (Which can sometimes be pretty busy).
The dining is always delicious from breakfast to dinner. I find their prices to be fairly reasonable as well. You definitely get what you pay for.
Staying here, you feel as if your in a small village; All you need to do is park your vehicle and can walk everywhere. There's a restaurant, pub, coffee cafe, bakery, gift shops, pools, fitness facility and a spa.
I would highly recommend staying here, you will not regret it!
