We've been to Fairmont at least a dozen times, but just recently started staying at the resort hotel. We've stayed in the main building and in the older building out back. I do prefer the main building as it was renovated more recently than the other one.

The rooms are clean, and usually have a fridge. They supply bathrobes and we just wear those over to the pools. If there is a line, you can skip it because you just tell the staff which room number you are in. With the hotel price, the pools are included, so you can go in and out all day, every day you are there. We usually pay about $150 per night, and for a family of 4, factor in the cost of the pools, it saves us a lot of money.

I do prefer to go in the winter - it's really relaxing to sit out in the cold, in a nice hot tub. The cold pools are warm enough to use then too. Summer is nice, busier than winter, but still worth it. We love to stay until the pool closes at the end of the night and just walk back to our room and go to sleep. I doubt we'll stay anywhere else now that we have found the Lodge.

The only thing I would like is an included breakfast, but they do have a nice breakfast buffet and menu and a coffee shop on site.

Have been coming to fairmont for 5 years now. Will be there aug 15 again for 2 weeks again.I think it would be great if when staying in the deluxe campground the price would include a swim per day like the hotel. With the new rates for deluxe camping this would be a incentive to return. We rent two sites each year.We very much enjoy fairmont but are thinking about not coming in 2013 as it is getting to costly. As we come from Medicine Hat each year. If deluxe campers got the same in aug as the early and late season campers get.The free swim will make a difference in the cost per day. There is 2 adults per site.

Left early on the morning of the mudslide and really enjoyed the hotel and it's amenities and perfect location. Good breakfast's at "Mountain Flowers" and a nice dinner and night cap at "Bear's Paw Bar & Grill". Only negative thing I have to say is that we reported that our air conditioner was leaking water onto the carpet to the front desk and they said that no maintenance person was on site but would be looked after the next day, but wasn't.

I would like to commend the staff at Fairmont Hot Springs resort for the excellent service they were able to provide during the Mud Slide July 15,2012. I started enjoying fairmont as a young child back in the 80's to the mid 90's. As of last year I decided it was time to check it out and see if it was still as enjoyable as an adult as the time I spent there as a child. The kids enjoyed our short 4 days last year and we decided to return again this year. We arrived friday and were able to enjoy the pools and hot springs for the first 3 days of our trip. We returned to the camp ground on the south side of the creek within 5 minutes of the slide. We had plans to go do some shopping in the village and were met with a mass of debris on the access road.

Within minutes the whole place was buzzing with activity. We returned to our campsites and with the aid of Judy the caretaker stuck in the campground with us had a group meeting and began receiving information from the lodge side of the creek. They were exceptional at communicating with us during the whole ordeal, they put priorities on ensuring all family members who were separated by the slide knew each other was safe.

The work started almost immediately to rebuild the road. They were unable to work through the night but were back at the road by 6:30 in the morning and the fellow operating what was almost undersized equipment for the task at hand worked tirelessly to build the road by 2:20pm. The only breaks he took during the whole day was to get some water and to eat a subway sandwich another worker brought to him. But as fast as he stopped to eat he was right back on the equipment spreading the fill they brought in and building an very passable road. Within a half hour of the road opening and them re-uniting families they allowed those who wanted to leave to pull out their camping units. Some of the largest being 40+ foot A class motorhomes. The road stood the test and they only held us up to add a little bit more fill to the soft spots.

We attended the first meeting at 5PM on the 16th only hours after they were able to provide access again and was met with Dean, who I believe is the CEO of the resort, I hope this is correct. He was on hand to those of us who chose to stay to answer any questions and allow us to make an educated decision on weather or not to stay. The information never stopped coming in, 5PM each of the following days we stayed we had Dean on hand giving us a briefing of any change in the conditions we would see in the next day as well as an update of the repairs they were working on.

We took this information and stayed till the end of our scheduled vacation. We had a enjoyable trip and have even looked to see when we can fit a quick trip in to use the pools once they are back up and running. Good Job to all the staff. We will see you soon.

AlbertaCamper, your review put a smile on our collective faces! It's a challenging time for guests of the resort and for the people who call this place home. The Fairmont Hot Springs Resort team (with help from many other folk) is working around the clock to restore water to the lodge and the RV Park, also to those wonderful natural hot springs. Things are progressing well - please check the website for the very latest information. Thanks for your support and for choosing to spend your time here. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Best regards,

My husband and I have enjoyed the Fairmont on many occasions, including last weekend. As always, we were welcomed by an attentive frontline crew and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the golf and the pool. Late Sunday afternoon, a friendly staff member advised us of the mudslide, the impact to the neighboring RV park, and the challenges to the water supply. He invited us to see the damage and advised us that they would notify us of any further challenges.
We decided to return home earlier to free up our suite for the folks from the RV park. The resort then sent us an email with an update on the mudslide. We will return to the Fairmont Hot Springs resort for the golf, the ambience, the customer service and the pool.

Thanks for your kind words, we really appreciate your support and your good humour. Sunday's debris flow was an incredible display of Mother Nature's power - we're now planning to show her what we are made of! Our focus today is on clearing the pipes that carry beautiful natural hot water from the springs to the pools (which we hope to re-open in a few days). Please keep an eye on the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort website for updates and information as it comes to hand. We look forward to seeing you back at the resort soon.

We stayed in the RV Park for one night, this area is so beautiful and the hot springs were so close. Ended up with a "deluxe" rv spot, well the spots were soo close and each road ended with a huge rock. Of course we now have a long scrap on the side of the rv from the rocks. Not enough parking for all the trucks that tow 5th wheels which left no room for us to manuver the turns. The price was huge for what you got, we think. we wouldn't stay there again
