The food quality and imagination would rival any big city place. Almost worth the 2 hour drive there and back. Just outstanding and I don't give this rating lightly!

We've been to Truffle Pigs a few times over the years, but our diets have changed considerably due to health reasons in the last few years. We were in the area having a bit of a mid-winter vacation and stopped in Field to see if there was anything on the menu that would do the trick.

We had an amazing Cream of Mushroom soup that beggared description, savoury and not too heavy, yet filling and very fitting for a cold winter's night. My wife had the Persian Feast and I had a Beet/Yam Roulade, both gluten free, both a delight and a great mix of flavours and textures.

Flint, the waiter was always there at just the right time with wonderful suggestions and great stories.

A wonderful experience.

Dinner at the restaurant was DE-lish! Started with spicy Caesars. Special was lobster tail with saffron risotto. Pasta with arugula, basil and cashew pesto. A bottle of La Frenz chardonnay. Yum! Live music was by Windborn, an acoustic guitar and cello combo. Desserts were divine. Service professional and friendly. We LOVE this restaurant and drive a good distance to enjoy it. Adjacent lodge is excellent and avoids the bane of designating a driver.

We always stop at the rest stop in Field, but have never gone across the tracks into the town. We ventured in to find a restaurant, and found Truffle Pigs. What a delightful little spot! It's a gorgeous mountain chalet with a view of both the mountains and trains passing through. The service was prompt, polite and friendly. The fun decor was entertaining as we waited for our food, which came very quickly (we all ordered the special). The food was very good. We will be back!

We have been there 3 times within 10 days. 2 times for dinner, one time having the bar menu.
The daily specials (fish and steak) were incredibly good! And the "shore thing" is amazing! And the sweets... weLIKE!
When we're heading back to Calgary, guess we will stop again for the great sandwich from the bar menue!
Great food, good service and lovely atmosphere!
