We wanted to experience Emerald Lake in a relaxing way and stayed at the Lodge right by the lake. The cabins are cozy and scattered over the the property which make for a unique experience. There are many walking and hiking trails at hand and the scenery is breathtaking. We were disappointed in the food though, had expected a better cuisine. Our meals were overcooked and tasteless and the espresso/cappuccino machine had been out of commission for over a year.

Although this is an expensive lodge, the room was unclean when we arrived. There were chips in the bathtub and sink as well as a hole in the shower curtain making the room feel cheap and unkempt. The room filled with smoke when we used the fireplace even though the damper was fully opened. There was also a boil water notice that had been going on over a year, but we didn't learn about it until just before our stay. Very inconvenient.

A rustic experience with very good food and incredible scenery. The rooms are quite pricey for their condition. Food was very good and staff friendly. There is a nice walk around the lake, but wear shoes you do not mind getting dirty and with good grips. An overall very good experience.

Loved this place. Outside of the accommodation could use a bit of tidying up paintwise etc. However, rooms are lovely with a proper fire and firewood provided. Views over the gorgeous Emerald Lake were superb. Food and service were excellent too although the wines were pretty pricey. Peaceful and delightful. Would thoroughly recommend. My only negative thought was that I had wished we had been staying longer.

We recently stayed at Emerald Lake Lodge for two nights and had booked two lodges for three adults. These lodges were over $500 dollars each per night, the total cost over $2000 dollars for two nights. We had stayed here 6 years ago and it was “rustic” then, it seems it has had no updating and barely any cleaning since then.
On arrival, after the eventual pick up from the car park and transfer, we entered reception which was at best described as chaotic, grubby and disorganised. We eventually entered our lodges, numbers 238 and 111, to be greeted by dirty carpets, shabby furniture and the general state was disrepair. We immediately looked for other accommodation but there was none available in a 60 km radius. We had to clean the shower before entering. I have attached some photographs of the grubby ceilings covered in cobwebs, the dirt around the light switches, the shabby bed frame, cracked sink etc. The standard is appalling. Combined with this a boil water notice has been in place for 16 months. You are advised to use alcohol gel after washing your hands. What about the rest of your body? I am mystified how this resort can still be open for business. In the UK the health authority would close this down.
We had dinner in the restaurant and the service was slow, the room cold and meal sub standard but extremely pricey. The tables were dirty and sticky and dead flies littered the window frames. Breakfast was poor, no complimentary coffee, food cold and overcooked.
We complained the following morning about the rooms and requested a deep clean. We then went out for the day and returned at 6 pm. The room had not been cleaned properly and once again had to complain again.
The duty manager offered us a refund for our meal and a housekeeper visited with a feather duster to get rid of the cobwebs. A whole lot more than a feather duster is needed to clean the lodges.
The whole resort is woefully understaffed. The team try there best but there is clearly no leadership or organisation.
We have travelled extensively and on this trip we stayed in 6 hotels and this was the worse experience.
