Following a miscommunication regarding the pickup spot, we began our rafting tour with our guide, William. We felt very safe and secure while having a thrill ride on the Exploits River. We saw interesting sights on the banks, played in whirlpools and some class 3 rapids. The guides took fantastic photos - a fun reminder of the day. They treated us to 4 hours of adventure. Fun for all ages, and a nice way to break up the drive in Newfoundland!

What can I say? The entire day was wonderful! We met at the Raft Shack ( NOT a shack!) for equipment and instructions by the guides. The guides were GREAT! Professional, kind, informative and patient with the "rookies"! Marvelous healthy lunch on rock islands in the river.
(Even "bathroom facilities" at the lunch area.) Even though we had never done anything like this before - it is completely "do-able" for those who are not in great physical condition. Our boys 14, 13 and 10 thoroughly enjoyed the day. There were nine of us in our raft plus the guide and although we did not know the other family, we had a total ball! I would suggest a dry fleece to change into halfway through the day.We would highly recommend this trip as a "not to be missed" experience! We also stayed in the chalets on site- they are beautiful - clean - and perfect for family accommodation. Thanks so much for a SUPER start to our Newfoundland "Home" vacation!

This rafting experience is wonderful for anyone -- aged 2 to 92! The guides are incredible, knowledgeable about safety, the Exploits River (and rivers in general), wildlife in the area and also cross promote other area attractions. No need to be nervous; they think of everything and everyone in our raft was completely at ease. It was a LOT of fun. Not only that, the hosts/ owners are amazing. Riverfront Chalets is one of the most beautiful accommodations at which I have stayed -- completely deserving of its 4 1/2 star rating -- complete with outdoor hot tub, views of the River and every convenience you can imagine. Highly recommended. Congrats to you both, Paul and Joy, for creating, developing and maintaining such high quality all round!

We had an awesome day doing the Badger Chite river rafting on the Exploit's River!! Tour starts @11:00 and you are bused to the starting point on the river where you are given rafting instructions/info session for the day. There were 3 rafts with @6 people + 1 guide per raft. 2 or 3 of the guides were from out of province and were great on the river. I would recoomend you not have fear of the water and be a swimmer as you will end up in the river at some point during the tour!! We had water fights with the other rafts which was fun!! I wouldn't recommend taking your camera, even if it's waterproof as there's good chance you will lose it. The guides have a digital camera and take many great pictures throughout the day and put them on disc for purchasing when the tour is finished ($20 per disc...well worth it in my opinion).
We stopped along the way at a swimming area, actually there were many times one could jump in and swim. We had a snack and further along had lunch on rocks in the middle of the river after a couple of hours of rafting. The guides set up a wonderful lunch of bagels, lettuce, cheese, choice of meat, crackers, fruit & water/juice/pop. Great job guys!! Perfect lunch and relaxation spot in the sun!! We rafted through rapids which were very cool and fun. The tour ended up back at the chalets where we had boarded the bus @ 5 hours earlier. Everything is very well organized and would certainly recommend this to the adventurist!! $109 well spent!!

We did this trip in Late july/07 and it was the highlight of our vacation. My wife and little boy(9) thoroughly enjoyed it. River rafting, swimming and a shore lunch on the river with excellent guides..Mostly light rapids but a couple of Class 3 that are fun and sure to get you wet. A must do for anyone in the area of Central Newfoundland.
