“Well kept museum for the entire family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2012

If you have time, visit the museum and ask questions to the staff. (Tip: you will save half of the price if you take your Steamship tour stub). It is important to keep a museum like this one running because it is a part of the history of steamship and historic boats.

“Key to Gravenhurst heritage”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2012

very good exhibition of everything about Gravenhurst which has been declared the 'Gateway to Muskoka region, starting with the steamships and resorts located around the three lakes, Muskoka, Rosseau and Joseph. This centre has tried to cover and show everything that it can lay hands on the artifacts from the olden days to the details of each and every resort located along with its history. needless to say it is a must see site in Gravenhurst.

“Great display of classic old boats and area resort history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2012

It is a wooden boat museum with many gorgeous boats and history of the old resorts. Very knowledable volunteer guides with great stories of Muskoka way back when, Lots of fun for kids and well as older folks. WHile there be sure to book a trip on the Segwun at Mukoka Steamships, just a short walk along the boardwalk

“Beautiful antique boats and Muskoka history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2011

The Heritage Centre is a must see if you like old boats and the history of Muskoka. It is located in Gravenhurst, about 30 miles south of The Rosseau Hotel in Minett. There are always some 20 vintage boats to see, along with a number of permanent displays featuring the history of the area, the history of boat construction in the area, and the age of the steam boats. I believe the Centre is open all year. Well worth a visit.
