“A great vacation!”

If your thinking of spending a couple nights at taboo resort you made a good choice. there really whell orginized and the beach is very nice. From your room depending where you are you could have a nice view of lake Muskoka. There are some nice restaurants there. And the two golf courses are very nice. Id go back to taboo its a wonderfull resort. Its just the rooms are a bit to small but have a nice design. If you want a good resort\spa book taboo you will love it! And for you swimmers there are 4 pools there. If you want a good resort book taboo.

We have been to Taboo before and it was even better this summer. Great room, fantastic service and lots of activities for a family. The resort has also invested in a new chef and the food is now great. We would definitely go back.

Taboo Resort leaves much to be desired apart from its beautiful scenery and view of Lake Muskoka. It's very expensive for what you get and the rooms are small. All activities at the resort are "a la carte" as would be expected, but the exhorbitant costs of jet-ski and boat rentals is a deterrent and makes these rentals difficult to afford for the average family. As for the staff, most of them were just passive, non-chalant. No one was rude, just not particularly helpful either when we asked for restaurant recommendations off-site, or for some decent shopping areas. Gravenhurst itself doesn't have much to offer, although Bracebridge does have a lovely, hilly main street of shops. Elements Restaurant was really the only decent restaurant in the resort and their breakfast buffet is not only reasonably priced but also very tasty, offering many options. The private beach was nice and my husband found the 18-hole golf course to be great, but not so much the 9-hole course. Glad we went but we won't go back.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Taboo. The resort is very well kept and the staff were extremely friendly. We ate at the Boathouse Restaurant twice and enjoyed the food. (The Muskoka Wharf in town also has a few good restaurants). The beach was great - you could walk out forever without it getting too deep and the bottom was very sandy. We had a fantastic view of the lake from our room and watched a beautiful sunset one evening. The room was average, but very clean. My only complaint was the air conditioner was quite noisy and did keep me awake the first night. Other than that, we truly enjoyed our stay and would definately return. Value wise it is comparable to some of the other resorts in the Muskoka area that we looked into staying at.

Just had my company's conference at Taboo Golf and Spa Resort and if anyone of you is thinking of a place Taboo is YOUR SPOT. They are by far THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!! made my life so much easier… their knowledgeable staff, out of this world customer service, willingness to help you and go BEYOND their duties to assure your stay is pleasurable at all times is just overwhelming and unbelievable. Beautiful amenities and delicious meals are the hot topics upon my colleagues. Everything was so well organized and my conference was a SUCCESS ….. I have been receiving positive emails from my colleagues with thoughts and warm memories of Taboo and as per them “BEST CONFERENCE” they have ever attended.

Big thanks to Kelly/Jay and Taboo staff.

Taboo, YOU ROCK!!!!!!

This place has gone downhill big time since I stayed here for a conference six years ago. Confusion at check-in over room keys with no apology. The bathroom is shocking - arborite countertop, cracked sink, and shoddy fixtures - low-end motel quality. The TV couldn't even get proper reception. $250 a night for this?!?
The confirmation stated that one night's deposit would be forfeited, but the on-duty manager smirked when I said that I was leaving after one night and informed be that he would be charging me for the full stay regardless of what the confirmation indicated with respect to the cancellation policy. He then said that his smirking laugh was the result of how he acts when he is nervous.
Avoid Taboo Resort and you will be avoiding wasted money and dreadful hospitality.

Taboo is a large, relaxing resort at a steep price. 2 simple ways to make it good value:
1. Go to Gravenhurst (5 minutes away) for meals. There are nice restaurants (e.g. Regatta), and all the usual fast-food suspects.
2. Visit Taboo in May or September, and/or on a weekday. I think peak prices (July weekend) are maybe 50% higher than a May weekend.

Cheers
