Love this hotel. Conveniently situated on The Wharf in Gravenhurst overlooking Lake Muskoka. The staff are incredible friendly and very sharp! My wife sand I frequent this location and are always impressed that the staff remember us and warmly greet us when we are there. Always a great breakfast buffet and the ever-present, warm and smiling Ann always greets us like we're family. It's impressive to see the General Manager, Shan, helping out with the breakfast buffet and making the guests feel welcome. This place is a "10" Looking forward to our return in the Fall.

Room Tip: Rooms ending with "01", "02", "29" and "30" are great 1-bedr...

I was up here on business with my husband - had been 40 years since I was in Muskoka, This was a beautiful resort. Great balcony view from our "Muskoka chairs" onto the lower bay of Lake Muskoka (the Wharf) Sipping wine and enjoying the view. This is an exceptional location to do day car trip around the lakes (Joseph, Rosseau, Muskoka) or go on day cruises that leave from nearby wharf. Was unable to do this re:time. Hotel is lovely and fairly new. Has kitchen amenities and comfortable bed and lovely balcony. - many golf courses nearby to try a few holes. My only regret is that this beautiful area does not seem to be bike or pedestrian friendly. Get on that Muskoka- you are missing a big group that could be fans. Staff at hotel warm and friendly. Breakfast is exceptional - love this part with all hot and cold breakfast -and great coffee - even though have coffee makers in room. We'll come back here again when we have more time- but a lovely stay, great bed , excellent location. Things might get pricey during the big summer season.... go off season.

Amazing location right on the wharf and a little rock hill with trees that you climb up (easy walk up) to overlook the lake, relax, take pictures, etc. Was there during the week so not too lively but made for a nice walk along the boardwalk and would imagine would be a great place on weekends and through the summer.
The room was the largest I've had at a Residence Inn, and any hotel for that matter, nice little balcony with some Muskoka chairs (naturally). Large pool, good for laps and the fitness room was clean and had the basics. A few nice restaurants a few minutes walk away and a Boston Pizza. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the wharf would be nice if you can get a decent price, but overlooking the parking lot...

We recently spent a weekend here as part of a celebration for my husbands birthday. I'm glad we made a reservation well in advance, because the hotel was completely full when we checked in; but I had called a couple of weeks earlier to request a specific location for the room and we got exactly what I had requested (which doesn't always happen when the location is full). It seemed like this was stressing the front desk staff a little, because I stood and waited for 5 minutes for one of the three people behind the desk to acknowledge me (and only one did, the other two ignored me completely), and her acknowledgement was that she was busy and could I wait a few minutes (although there were no other guests at the desk). Then she left the desk (!) and someone else came over to check us in; but in fairness this was the low point of the weekend, and everything else was exceptional.

We loved the room - they're really well thought out with clever features to maximize the space. We were traveling with our 20 yr. old daughter and had a separate bedroom with a king bed for ourselves while she slept on the pull out couch in the living area. The king bed was perfect, not too soft or firm; and even the sofabed (which is normally pretty uncomfortable) was OK. The decor was really well done, not your standard hotel couch/chair/table but interesting fabrics and designs. There was a gas fireplace in the living area and a walk out balcony with two Muskoka chairs overlooking the lake - just a spectacular view. The full kitchen was also very well laid out and included basic kitchen supplies that we weren't expecting like cutlery and dishes.

The included breakfast was very good (important to note that we are early risers and managed to miss the crowds both mornings we were there), with lots of options and frequent refreshing of the offerings - no soggy eggs or lukewarm sausages, and the first morning when I mentioned to one of the breakfast room staff that the orange juice had run out it was immediately replenished. The breakfast area is cleverly laid out so that lounge areas adjacent to the lobby act as overflow seating, with extra tables and counters with stools - this made a big difference when the weekend wedding crowd came down about 20 minutes after we did, everyone was able to find a seat.

This hotel set a new standard of excellence for us, and in fact the next weekend my husband was at another chain in Sarnia that also provides breakfast and noted that they were substantially inferior to the Marriott. Recommended with no reservations, we will certainly be back again.

Room Tip: There are lakeview rooms on both front and back, the rooms on the back look directly over the lake w...

With our own kitchen and gas fire place we felt more at home than you normally can at a hotel. We had meetings there for 3 days and when you travel a lot you can get tired of restaurants so our group enjoyed the BBQs and had a great evening of grilling and relaxing. Certainly not your average hotel. I'd advise anyone to stay here and blend what you enjoy about travel with some of the comforts of home.

If you are looking for a place that you will remember for a long time then this is the place to stay.

This is our third time to this hotel and it never disappoints. From the moment we checked in the staff were so nice and friendly.

This time we were celebrating our 52nd and 53rd Birthdays, we were also surprised with a phone call to our room from the front desk on the second day telling us that they had a gift for us. A few moments later a knock at the door and when I opened it a staff member was standing there with two bottles of Champagne, what a wonderful gift.

We stayed in room # 501 it is a one bedroom suite with a beautiful stunning view of Lake Muskoka and the sunsets are amazing. This is a big room, the living room has a fireplace for those cool evenings and fully equipped kitchen with full sized appliances everything you will need to cook up a meal in your room. But don't forget you also get free Hot/Cold breakfast options every morning down in the kitchen area for the hotel. So many options to choose from you might make two trips. You MUST try the Waffles, they are so YUMMY.

The bathroom area (sink and tub/shower & toilet) are in two other rooms and the bedroom with a KINGSIZE BED and the Full Balcony is the last room. So at no time do you feel cramped.

I have to thank all of the staff from the Housekeepers to the Kitchen Staff to the Front Desk Staff you all helped to make this stay so wonderful, we will be back soon.

Sincerely

Leslie Black

Room Tip: There really are no BAD rooms in the entire hotel but I always choose the 5th floor facing the Lake...
