“A very pleasant last cruise of the season”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

We had intended to try one of the cruises during the summer, but wound up waiting until the last cruise of the season on October 20. The weather ws cool, but the sun broke through and we took the one hour cruise through the narrows and into the main lake and return. We had a good, informative greeter/narrator who pointed out the sights along the way. The lake was dead calm and the fall colours were still excellent. We really enjoyed our brief cruise.

“Lunch on the Lake”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

Excellent commentary. Elegant dining room. Charming staff and wholesome hot lunch. Pristine loos! Fabulous island views despite choosing a dull and drizzly day.

“A "COOL" Trip”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Had a very interesting trip up Lake Muskoka on the Segwin, a coal fired steamship originally built 125 years ago. Fascinating trip, history and geography of the lakes of Muskoka. The meal provided was a major dinner of Turkey and all the fixings. Dress armly if you take this cruise. It is very cool with the wind chill factor caused by the speed of the boat and temperature of the water.
Cottages are really huge and expensive. How the other 5 % really live.
Visit the Heritage Centre as well to see some excellent wooden boats including Miss Canada IV.

“Oldest and only Steamship still running and doing it in style.”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

A very neat trip into the past on an old time steamship named Segwun. We had lunch and enjoyed the tour narrated by a charming and knowledgable person. Fall colours on the tour are awesome.

“Muskoka Steamships -- beauty and history rolled into one”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

There is no better way to see the lakes of Muskoka than on one of the two steamships that call Gravenhurst homeport. The Segwun is the original steampowered mail ship that has been fully restored. You can see the engines working in a trip to the engine room, listen to a commentary from Richard Tatley, steamship and Muskoka Lakes historian and author of many books, pay a visit to the captain, and on certain sailings -- enjoy fine dining in the beautiful intimate dining room on board. It is a truly wonderful experience no matter how often you try it. The Wenonah is a replica ship that supplies all of the experience and all of the beautiful scenery you could ever hope for. Don't miss a chance to take either of these ships into a by-gone era -- and team it up with a trip to the Grace and Speed Museum on the shore for an amazing look at life on ships and at lodges in days gone by.
