Yellow Point is a unique experience. Designed to be a rustic retreat, the Lodge no frills, no luxuries, just wholesome home cooked food, convivial company and a glorious ocean view.
Reminiscent of mountain lodges this is a place where all meals are taken in a dining hall at non-reserved tables, so you really have to mix, even if you don't want to, and indoor relaxation can be reading or dozing in the huge log common room, or playing games in the games room.
Weekend musical entertainment is always "home made".
Rooms, in keeping with the rest of the lodge, are basic, (although they do have small en-suites), but contain the essentials, except, comfortable beds - the biggest downsize to this resort in my opinion.
Service is prompt and friendly. Because most guests pre-book the same days stay every year, re-engaging with people you only meet once a year is an interesting experience.
The lodge has many acres of woodland as part if its property which can be explored using well marked trails.

If you are looking for a unique take on "all inclusive" you should try this place.

I have stayed here for 7 years straight on the same weekend. What makes this place unique is the consistency. There reservation system allows you to book the same weekend every year and this means that the majority of the people are also the same people. You develop some friendships that last the years and you look forward to catching up each year.

The meals are fixed (with some flexibility for dietary requirements) and remain the same every week. Roast beef on Saturday for supper is my highlight. My wife loves the curry prawns on Friday evening. Breakfast are more flexible where you can order almost anything you want. All the meals are fabulous.

The facilities are well maintained, the rooms clean but rustic in theme. Don't look for wifi, TVs or telephones in the room. This place is tailored for people to get away from it all. There are different level of service from private cabins overlooking the water, to hotel style rooms, to cabins with external public bathrooms and showers and stoves for heating.

Yellow Point also offers bikes, tennis courts, croquet, kayaking, canoes, outdoor (unseated) pool, hot tub, small exercise room, ping pong, books and games, all for free.

This place is unique and original BC west coast style of stay.

Room Tip: If your dates are flexible, you can pick the room type that fits your style the best.

A Million Thanks from both Margot and myself for a most relaxing and enjoyable stay at Yellow Point Lodge. No WiFi, no television, no radio, no telephone. An absolute away-from-it-all rest. The food was marvelous. The hot tub was a blessing to start the day. We shared a Kayak, visited seals by Navy Cutter, walked the beaches and read books. The food phenomenal.

Room Tip: Check for cancellations or you'll never get in. This place is 99% inhabited by return guests. There's something here for every taste in accomodations.

Yellow point lodge is not the place to go to if you want to lose weight. But if you are looking for a place of great natural beauty and peace this is it! Situated on Vancouver island coast nearLadysmith, in woodland rich with arbutus trees, beside the shore line looking towards Salt Spring island. The accomodation is rustic ,but very Comfortable. Most rooms or cottages have wonderful views. Meals are Included in the room rates; the cooking is excellent and more than adequate; served at round tables seating 10. No computers or phones, lots of walking biking trails, in summer a pool filled with the ocean water and warmed by the sun. What more come you ask for? A great place to unwind. Then there are the people you meet! Many come back year after year, at the same time so they get to know some Of the guests well. BUT booking can be difficult because guests book a year ahead. So be warned, !oh yes! The staff are excellent and very friendly.

Room Tip: Be flexible when booking and book well ahead.

We have been guest for the past 6 years and each year it becomes more relaxing. We appreciate the beauty and the the disconnect from TV, Newspaper, computers, phones.. Only soak in the beauties of Nature. Talk with about 100 other guests, hike fabulous trails, eat great food and regather ones energy !

Room Tip: Book several years in advance or take your chances.. Once you get a reservation you KEEP the reservation for upcoming years!
