Housed in the same building as the Fisheries Museum, this location is right on the water in the Lunenburg harbor. We had the happy hour oysters and beer deal, and then came back for dinner. The house salad is wonderful with unique ingredients that include arugula, dried blueberries and crushed chili lime peanuts. The stuffed mushrooms were very good and the mussels fresh. They are served with a plain broth--no garlic or herbs. Service was good, and the ambiance couldn't be beat. As we ate our delicious meal, we watched the tide come in as some locals used the last bit of daylight to practice their rowing for the upcoming dingy race in the harbor.

The Old Fish Factory is located right on the water within the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. The ambiance was pleasant, with wonderful view of the harbour. It felt like you should be able to cast a line out of the window and reel in your fresh fish right onto your table. I cracked my first lobster, an interesting experience for a land lubber from the Prairies. My wife enjoyed the haddock.

I had the Asian seafood salad which was delicious with scallops scrimp and perfectly cooked salmon, My companions had the fish fry which included 4 large scallops, 4 shrimp and two pieces of deep fried haddock for $20. They all loved it and even the french fires were hot, crisp and tasty. Service was a little slow at the beginning, waiting for someone to take our drink order was a little annoying but she soon made up for the wait and was very attentive throughout the entire meal.
As I said though, I couldn't wait to leave just to warm up outside. Why do restaurants have air conditioning set in the 60's when it is in the 80's and 90's outside and every one is dressed for the 80's and 90's?

We had dinner here twice at the beginning of July. My partner and I had the Lobster Feast that came with a boatload of mussels. The first night they only had one left that was part of the special that was 1 1/4 pounds. We were crushed as we were on a mission to eat as much Lobster as possible while on this trip. Our server cam back afterwards and worked out something for us with the kitchen that allowed us to indulge in our craving. After dinner we tried the lemon indulgence and the apple cake with rum sauce. There was a debate with everyone as to what is the better choice. I voted twice for the apple cake. The second night our server also showed us how to eat the lobster, i.e. where ALL of the meat is. No one had ever showed us that. Amazing. Nice casual place with local fresh seafood and super friendly service. I am from Toronto and all of the restaurants here could learn a great deal on good service by taking a trip to Nova Scotia.

Stopped in here after a Sunday of exploring. The restaurant was uncrowded and we were seated immediately. We opted for the indoor dining room rather than outside on the dock. The server was very friendly and the food was delivered promptly. The haddock and chicken with chutney dishes were both excellent.
