“Delicious but Musty”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

Personally I love the food here at the Dockside. It has the best pan fried haddock and clams & chips in all of Lunenburg. Unfortunately, the decor and the carpet looks like it has not changed since the 70s when it opened. It smells and feels old in this place, and it grosses me out that the waitresses smell like cigarettes.
If you sit on the patio you have the best view in Lunenburg and the decor can all be ignored and you can enjoy the best seafood in town.

“Lovely view!”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

We enjoyed a nice size bowl of Sea food Chowder (crab, scallops, haddock, & onions). A large warm bread roll also accompanied the chowder. The restaurant was situated alongside other restaurants that overlooked the Main Street and the lovely harbor. We had a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The server was very helpful. The restrooms were clean. If you are driving, you may have a problem with parking. We wouldn't hesitate to return to this restaurant. Although we only ordered a bowl of soup, we saw that other patrons were ordering lobster, but I can't comment on that selection.

“Terrible lobster and shrimp but good staff”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

We at lunch at the Dockside with a Halifax local and had a good meal, but did not order lobster or shrimp. We returned for dinner with 9 people and had the worst lobster and shrimp we have ever eaten - especially at $29.95 which is more than we pay for fresh lobster in the western provinces currently. I had the whole lobster. It cam cut up (not sure all the pieces even fit together as the same lobster). It had been sitting under a warming lamp or in an oven for a LONG time and was try and disappointing very small. My husband had the two lobster tails and shrimp. His lobster was also dry and shriveled and the shrimp were Costco frozen breaded shrimp. Definitely frozen and not fresh. What a disappointment. This restaurant is a tourist trap that does not deliver good lobster or shrimp. Just go to their local Save On Foods and save yourself a bundle of money and disappointment.

“Great Location”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Food and service were good. Deck overlooking the harbor is outstanding location and principle selling point.
