We stayed for three nights in early October 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Each breakfast was a gourmet feast, beautifully prepared, and elegantly presented. Chris was a gracious hostess and very generous in sharing lots of knowledge about the area, places to visit, eat, and enjoy. The house was spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed, and even the trek up three flights of stairs was manageable. The views from our room were spectacular. We would recommend this place without hesitancy. A special treat was seeing a brilliant perrformance by the Nova Scotia Symphony at the beautiful Anglican Church across the street. Jim and Helen

The locale, historic home, fantastic breakfast and our hosts Chris and Dan were bang on!
Should our travels find us back in Lunenburg we would be thrilled to stay again.
Thanks for the travel tips and chats Chris!

We stayed 3 nights at the lovely B&B. Our visit began with a prompt greeting from Chris, who was ready to offer a local map and recommendations for dinner. Since the property is located in town, everything was in walking distance. She then showed us to the Heritage Suite. It was large, with a separate sitting room and bedroom. Both rooms had gorgeous views of the town and harbor. The bathroom was large and included a steam shower. Free wireless was also available.

The entire home has been beautifully restored, and Chris and Dan kept everything original where possible. The interior woodwork is especially beautiful, and the exterior was being prepped for a fresh coat of paint while we were there.

Each evening Chris asked what time we would like breakfast served the next day. When we arrived in the dining room each morning, the table was already set and coffee was waiting. As soon as we were seated, Chris would come in and tell us the menu for the day. Each day included fruit with yogurt and a selection of juices, and a different entree was offered. Ours were omelette and potatoes, lemon ricotta pancakes and eggs, and eggs scrambled with smoked salmon. Breads and other sides rounded out the meals, Chris served and Dan was the one doing the cooking; everything was delicious and plentiful!

Chris offered us friendly, warm hospitality in a lovely, comfortable setting. She was always ready with suggestions for restaurants and sights to see (including directions). I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone staying in the area.

Room Tip: All of the rooms were beautiful, but the Heritage Suite has the best views. The only downside is the...

We stayed for three nights at the Addington Arms, and it was fantastic! Chris was a wonderful hostess - very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and welcoming. The breakfasts were to die for. We would definitely recommend it, and would stay there again. Thanks, Chris and Dan!

We stayed at the Addington Arms B&B while in Lunenburg and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Christine is a delightful hostess, the breakfasts are delicious, having smoked salmon and eggs our first morning and fabulous lemon ricotta pancakes and sausage the second morning. The foods are local and the juices, made down the street, are delicious. I am an iced-tea drinker and each morning I found a glass of iced tea waiting for me. We were also able to select what time we wanted to eat. Each morning Chris gave us printed recommendations for a days activities sending us to great photo ops and places we would never have known about. That covered breakfast, now for the bed......the rooms and bathrooms are HUGE, the beds and linens top notch, and those steam showers such a treat. The windows open so we enjoyed the fresh cool air and closing them blocked any outside noises. The location is right where you want to be, right in lovely Lunenburg, just off the harbor, and walking distance for the restaurants and shops. We have stayed in many B&B's and this was the best overall experience we've had at a B&B.

Room Tip: The top floor rooms eliminate overhead noise in this restored old house. The small room was huge, t...

In August we spent four nights with Chris and Dan at their B&B, the ADDINGTON ARMS.
We usually stay in B&B's, so we have a lot of experience. I can say without hesitation that our time at the Addington was one of the best we've had. Our room was the Flying Jib. It is very large, nicely decorated (the purple walls are subtle and relaxing), a very comfortable bed,
large modern bathroom with aroma shower, AND, a perfect view of the Lunenburg harbor.
Parking is very easy. You can park on the street for free and there are always open spaces.
There is also parking in back of the building, but we never used it because streets are safe.
The location is two blocks from the harbor and near all the restaurants and shops you want.
Of course, the most necessary element to an enjoyable stay is to feel welcome. Chris and Dan are two of the most hospitable people we've met. Chris instantly treats you like a friend, and provides any special information or addition to the room you may need ( for me, an electric kettle and tea set-up in the room). When we return to Lunenburg, we will definitely stay at the Addington.

Room Tip: The Flying Jib room is spacious, comfortable, and has a perfect view of the harbor.
