I have dropped by the Scuttlebutt several times in the last couple of months and have had great food and great service. First was a Christmas banquet with a Roast Turkey Dinner that was very tasty. Everyone at the banquet had nothing but rave reviews. The next time was with a friend and I had a BBQ pulled pork quesadilla and a side salad. The quesadilla was absolutely mouth watering. I never thought I would eat a salad with fruit in it but the orange salad was so good. I have been there twice more, once with a friend and my son in which they both enjoyed their meals. The last time was with my mother who had a grilled ham & cheese sandwich which came with a variety of fruit. She also enjoyed her meal. My mother ordered one of the many smoothies and we both shared it because it was so good. Next time we want to try either the bailleys or kahlua smoothie. Both times since trying the quesadilla, I have had the same meal each time. I think I'm addicted...I can't stop going now.

We went to the Scuttlebutt on January 30th to listen to the live music they had scheduled, and it was wonderful! Great food, fun atmosphere, and wonderful music. We got there at 6 and ended up staying the whole night. Can't wait to get back!

I booked Monday for six people for Friday of that same week. I arrived a few minutes early to make sure the table was ready. Good thing I did. The owner had no record of my reservation, then told me she'd had only 2 hours sleep the night before, and probably just forgot. When my group arrived, we placed our order then waited a half hour before being served. The restaurant was empty. My group judged the grilled cheese sandwich to be mediocre, "plastic cheese and not enough cheese", and the stir-fry chicken was laden with salt and soggy mangos. There were no complaints about the fish chowder. The waitress left us sitting with our dirty plates for the rest of our time there. She did not offer coffee or the dessert menu. The only time she came over was to ask us if we were ready to pay. I don't think any of us will return.
