We (family of four) had breakfast at the Scuttlebutt after staying one night in Lunenburg. The food, coffee and service were excellent. The staff could not have been more friendly! Our waitress even gave us directions to Digby (our next destination on our trip), she also recommended that we stop off in Bear River on the way and visit the shops there which we did! We highly recommend the Scuttlebutt! Personally I recommend their Monte Cristo sandwich for breakfast -outstanding!!

Terrific breakfast spot especially if you like a healthy breakfast. They have fresh made oatmeal w a large cup of fresh fruit and yogurt w a generous portion of fresh fruit. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is comfortable and well located in the middle of town. They are open all day w entertainment on some evenings.

My husband John and I were lucky to happen upon The Scuttlebutt Restaurant while walking down Montague street recently. We decided to have lunch there on a whim and weren't disappointed. Michael, our server, was fabulous (thanks Michael!) and so was our meal. John opted for the fish and chips and I chose the lobster roll. The fish was fresh and delicious, the fries crispy and hot and perfectly cooked. My lobster roll was out of this world. The lobster meat so sweet and fresh, and the "bun" was soooo good. My lobster roll came a beautiful salad with slivers of fresh veggies and a yummy dressing. Can't wait to go back to Lunenburg to try out their breakfast menu. Heard it was really great.

We used our discount coupons from the Smugglers Cove Inn to have breakfast here. Portions were generous, service was friendly, and the food was acceptable but not outstanding. It seemed a little pricey, even with the discount, but it's convenient and quick if you're staying at Smuggler's Cove.

We had the pleasure, to run into Eva Zieglers`Scuttlebutt the day Germany faced Argentina in World Cups soccer final 2014 and eventually emerged as World Champion. Eva, who is german, is a great host, had cakes and snacks prepared in our nations colours, good crafted canadian and german beer, too, on tap. And she was showing the game on TV. We were to exited to eat though, but if we would have stayed longer in very pretty Lunenburg, Evas`Scuttlebutt would have been one of our favourite sites for food and drink.

All the best, dear Eva, we had a great time travelling Nova Scotia.
