Our family had a great time- we especially liked the two ships we could explore. Well worth a visit .

The exhibits regarding the fishing industry in Nova Scotia are excellent. The film giving the history of the Bluenose is worth while.

The Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic is a must-see in Lunenburg. There are many very interesting and educational displays on many aspects of the fishing life in Nova Scotia, including a large aquarium. My favourite was the 12-crew fishing boat in the water. A trip down the ladder below decks is a fascinating look into the everyday life of the fisherman.

Thank you for the great review! We agree that the two retired fishing vessels you can go aboard dockside offer a special, authentic look at the fishing industry.

If you watch all those reality fishing shows, then you will love this museum! Being able to talk around on two old vessels gives you a great perspective on how hard and damgerous this work really is. Something for all ages. Live fish in tanks, touch tanks full of live scallops, an old machine that makes nails and a memorial to all the men who lost their lives fishing. Yes, the Bluenose is still in dry dock.

We were a bit disappointed that the Blue Nose 2 was still in dry dock. The last time we were there - 3 years ago - it was parked at the wharf and we were able to go on board. The gift shop was very interesting as well.
